Separate thread seemed better than continuing comments on “Stomper” thread. Opinions on replacing arm with stock Harley arm which seems to be soft and sacrificial since changing stripped shaft can be $$$. Or replace with aftermarket that’s harder material. Will the aftermarket slip on and off without primary removal. Stock arm is removable/replaceable without primary removal.
 
I put the Harley one on my 2021 and used a new bolt, nut and lock washer with just a dab of anti seize and have no problems

I also drilled and tapped the front of the primary where the shift shaft goes thru, I installed a grease fitting so I can lube the shift shaft

The bikes used to come this way from the factory until I believe 1997

I think this is what you're talking about. I put one on my '05 Ultra after having the 2nd stock one fail. Never had the problem again.
 
And why should you ever have to replace it? Poor design. And on older models you do need one.
I said you don`t need the better lever on newer models.

On the older models if you need to replace the shift lever, just get out the tools and pull the primary covers off, about 40 dollars in gaskets vs over 200 for that overpriced shift lever.

Poor design? Splined shafts and levers have been used on motorcycles for as long as motorcycles have had shifters.

If shift levers are not periodically checked, they will work loose and eventually strip or damage the splines.
