Hi, my handle is Rod Bolt. I own a 2012 Harley electra glide ultra classic limited. I have been thinking about triking this bike. I enjoy riding two wheels, but when my wife and I ride two up, I get very nervous and so does she. She has no desire to ride by herself. We are both recently retired and want to ride two up. I thought about buying a triglide when I purchased the electra glide but thought that I would not like riding the trike.

I love my trike and am glad I switched to 3 wheels. The decision you'll be facing is whether to trike your present bike or buy a Tri Glide. I love my CSC conversion, but many folks prefer a purpose built trike. There are advantages to either method, but the ultimate goal is to keep riding. :D

Hey Rod Bolt, come on in an join us. Triking is as much fun as riding the two wheels and lot less nerves. Long trips are more fun and you meet a lot of very nice people riding trikes. Look around before your trike yours, there are several good brands out there, read, explore, ask questions and I'm sure your will make the right decision.
Ride safe

:wave4: Hi from Nashville, Tn. Many of us are retired also. I chose to trade up to the TG just so I could ride longer. The TG is different, keep reading you'll see how many people got the hang of 3 wheels instantly and others like me, 3rd ride was the charm. As has been said, you have to decide if you keep the UC or trade for the TG. But test ride a TG, its a great machine. Many others here can give you info on the many trike kits.

Glad your here, ask all the questions you need, everyone will chime in.

Welcome Red Bolt. If you decide to covert, I agree with others, there are plenty of trike kits to choose from. Just remember, once you trike your Harley, you may experience some problems with dealer service. You might want to consider trading for a TriGlide.

Welcome to the forum. I am very happy with my 2012 Electra Glide with a CSC Daytona. As for warranty issues that's another story. I had no problems with my local dealer. Then HD found out about the conversion and blocked my VIN. Glad I have a Hog rider in the family that works on his own. At least labor will be free. I did know this going in though. Warranty issues aside I'm very happy with my trike. 7200 miles since the last week of July and with the weather forecast here there will be several hundred more on it in the next week. :D

Welcome from Cayce SC , I rode two for over 50 years going to 3 was a shock and a learning experance . Now that my wife feels safe she has again joined me riding and I do not fear dumps any more so life is good on three.

welcome aboard you will miss the lean for awhile but after that you will say why did I wait so long.

Thanks to all for the very warm welcome. My wife and I are getting very excited about triking but have a lot of research to do. We need to find some places to test ride different trikes out there. Triglide and solid axle and independent kits.

You will be reluctant to do it , then you will be like an expectant father waiting for the trike to come home . Then you will have mixed feelings about it for about 2 months or 500 miles or so ( your mileage may very) then all of a sudden like a butterfly emerging From the cocoon you will fly. And then the words ... "Remember this part of this long winded story carefully " WOW I WISH I DID THIS SOONER ... Yes you will utter these words. I want you to PM them to me when you do. pepper:wave4:

Welcome Rod Bolt. I have loved triking from my first test ride. Real stable for all those NW wet roads. I ride a '10 TG and love it. I also agree with everything said about warranties. If you trike yours, you can't count on HD warranty.bozo
