I went to the international motorcycle show here in Atlanta today to see all the new stuff and to see the new Indian motorcycle display that has been advertised for the last several months with great fan fair, "a no show", I guess they couldn't get it started and the other two were being worked on:D, so much for Harleys new competition :qpnmt:.
Could be a apart of the new "Affordable Bike Act" roll out below.

Not good at all. I had one of the last generation. Bailed out and sold a week before the blowout. Didnt get burned as bad as many. Sold a used Chief for enough money to buy a used Road Glide. Aint going back no matter who tries to revive them!

Maybe AMF will buy them out. They did such a good job with Harley. pepper

My neighbor bought a new 3 year old one from a dealer 2 States west of Texas.

1. He Paid 45k for it but the dealer gave him a helmet, a jacket, and some other inexpensive trinkets.

2. He had trouble getting a bank loan because although it was new it was 3 years old.

3. No dealers in Houston, Texas, but a Harley dealer about 50 miles from Houston agreed to service it providing they could get the parts.

4. About 2 months later the Indian started to leak. Harley nor the selling dealer could get or find the parts. Months went by and no parts. All he got was the run around.

5. Bike started to leak from other areas. He tried to get help from the factory but no joy. Just run around.

6. Warranty period ran out because warranty started when selling dealer got it and not when it sold or so he was told.

7. He found the needed parts on the web and had the engine rebuilt at his expense.

Is my neighbor a happy camper? Yes he is. He loves the bike. But he is not very happy with the selling dealer or the factory or with having to find parts himself.
