New guy from Wyoming

Hello to all:

I am not new to riding...I have had one or more bikes since I was about 16.
I am 70 now and while I just rode my 2002 Victory Touring Cruiser to the Sturgis Rally last month...I really want to move to a Harley Davidson Freewheeler...
I still enjoy riding, but I admit to some 'balance' issues that I suppose I have earned over the years....
;)
Here's my question, and I hope it's not out of line here:
I took a test ride on both current HD Trikes at Sturgis, and I think I have decided on the Freewheeler, but of course they are not inexpensive, and I have been attempting to research just how much I should have to pay...
I found this:

http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2016/Harley-Davidson/FLRT-FREE-WHEELER-1690cc/Values

But when I try to find a Freewheeler...either the Dealer won't give any Price unless I come in, or they claim their Price is say, $29,900, but they might come down to say, $26,900 !? (True Story!)
So, are there really Dealers out there anywhere who will sell for less than MSRP? Not necessarily that 'low retail' price...but clearly I don't want to just pay a Dealer's 'Sticker Price'...without any attempt to do a little better!?

Thanks Very Much In Advance...

Welcome from Ga. and to Trike Talk.
I bought a 2016 Triglide that had an MSRP of 33+ I paid 29000 plus 800.00 in store credit to the parts or apparel dept.

Welcome from Illinois. I wish you the best in finding the ride of your choice. <img src="images/smilies/thumbup.gif" border="0" alt="" title="ThumbUp" class="inlineimg" />

welcome aboard. Because you are out there in WY you may have to do a little traveling to find a deal. Look in the Denver area or maybe Seattle there has got to be a volume dealer out that way somewhere.

</div>Thanks, I Agree...<br />

Any ideas on how a guy can actually identify those 'Volume Dealers'?

Welcome, as mentioned above you should be able to find a decent deal with the 2017' s now out. We purchased ours at the end of 2015 when the 16' s were sitting there side by side....they came down once they knew we had shopped two other dealers. Told them we wanted to think about it and the price came down some more. We agreed on 21,500 All said and done, they make money on all the "extras" you get and warranties & such. Hope this helps, happy hunting! ThumbUp

Well, I re-confirmed my 'bias' today...
I have kept checking on my local dealer's web-site and seen no Trikes listed...but the dealer also has a 'Now Hiring' notice so maybe it was the 'I.T.' Person they were trying to replace!?
Anyway, I decided to go back up there again and see for myself if there were in fact any Trikes at the Dealership...
There were None...
So, I wandered around the Showroom long enough to look at every bike there, totally uninterrupted by any Sales-person whatsoever!
I left without ever having been spoken to by any Sales-person, though there did not appear to be a shortage of them...all engaged in talking to each other.

That's pretty sad, right there. Guarantee it wouldn't happen,at my dealer.

Welcome, WyoRider, from just south of ya in Cheyenne!

Great to see another Wyoming member.

There is another veteran member from Casper in the forums as well.

You might give High Country Harley a call down here: http://www.highcountryharley.com/

They may be able to compete, prise wise, as they are originally based out of Colorado and have stiff competition from Thunder Mountain Harley...........Which you might give them a call as well: http://thundermountainharley.com/

Both usually have trikes in stock. I know that High Country does here. Hell, there are a ton of Tri-Glides and Freewheelers running around Cheyenne. Most have been in the last year or so.

Rapid city S. Dakota would be my first choice, I'm not really sure what the dealer in Casper,Wy. would do? Chuck Deluxe still owns the dealership in Gillete,wy which would give me pause.

I seen a silver one there yesterday, Got sticker shock until I looked at the new 110" road glide.
