This past Saturday my neighbor had his trike setting out and he gave me a shout to come over,so i wandered over and he said he had a problem.Said his bike wouldn't start so i go thru the normal questions, key fob, battery, have your foot on the brake ect ect.

So i turn the ignition on and everything lights up,fuel pump cycles in neutral hit the button and nuttin,no click no light dimming,so we fooled with it for a minute and i told him to call the dealer because it sounded like the left handle bar switch pack was out.

So the dealer called and sure enough that's what it is,of course the dealer doesn't have one and the weather is gonna be nice this weekend. Now i had this same issue with my 17 early on and after 4 years you would think that HD would have gotten this squared away by now.

They still haven't cared to make a proper trunk latching mechanism since the first Tri-Glide .....What is that ten years or more now....?

I know the left hand switch pack could cause it to not start in gear even with the clutch pulled in and brake on. I had two replacements on my 2018 TG for this - once with the original oem switch pack and finally the second time with the new design switch pack and a redesigned clutch lever which finally corrected the problem. But I never had any problem starting in neutral. What's up with that. So far (fingers crossed, lol) my 2020 has been A-OK in this regard and all others - no problems at all thank goodness.

I know better than most what its like to buy a new bike and then to constantly have it in the shop for one thing after another, but if this is the only problem he has he will be lucky.

Just curious Steve, did he have the bars changed ? I know some who have done that ,pinched a wire..
