2005 GL1800 with the early CSC conversion. The drive shaft goes from the engine output shaft to the rear end all 1 piece and no extra gear box. My u joint has a little up and down play and I'm getting a vibration in my mirrors. Wondering if anyone has replaced the yoke themselves before and is there anything special I need to have to do it? If you have done it before where did you go for parts and what kind of cost is involved? I know there is a fix for the 2nd generation by mountain trikes but I haven't been able to find much about replacing my style. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Mike,

How many miles on the trike? You may not need to replace the yoke. You may just need to grease the splines and maybe replace the Delrin disk.

You might want to give CSC parts and service a call at (434) 263-8421.

Thanks Seabill, I have about 50,000 on it. I did call CSC today and got someone that was very helpful. He said they usually don't need replaced before 60,000 or so depending on previous maintenance. I have play in the shaft and thought it was excessive but after talking to them I find out it's probably normal and things might just be dry as you say. I'll know more once I take it out. Mostly just wanted to make sure that when I take it apart I'm not going to get surprised by something flying across the shop!
