Hello all.
trying to get my head wraped around my game plan for the start of my trike.
i have a complete fresh355ci sbc with a 6-71 blower just waitin to get dropped in something.
i also have a 53 inch wide 8.8 inch rear with 3.55 gears and a posi. Tires are gonna be 26 tall inch rims or 15x18 wide prostreeters. Depends on my wheelin n dealin.
Plannin on using trikertroys leading link front end if i can get in contact with him.
got my frame designer but hes gonna use pics of several different bikes to custom build mine.
i want a stretched out front end.....low mounted engine with skinny mid section to use a saddleman or king n queen seat.
im tryin to keep it lookin more like a chopperish trike thats about 10-12 feet long. Maybe hide the real fuell cell under the seating area and use a cycle tank to give it the looks of a real one????
anyways....just thinkin out loud. RR

Hey Rod ,,,,,sounds like a plan,,,ThumbUp,,, you may still buy one of his leading links but he passed away a few months ago . Have read some great things about those LL's . ThumbUp.....GOOD LUCK RICK

sounds like an awesome project. i hope you will be keeping us posted as things start to happen. she will be a wild beast for sure, that will be a lot of horses to tame.

:Coffee:...Don't let my comments stop you ,,might still can get one of his FEs may have some in stock or someone else may be building his LLs .ThumbUp..... Just to help you out there are a lot of builders of the leading link a couple I 've read on here that may help you out ( some good people on here )....ThumbUp ThumbUp

Yea
classycustoms seems to be a big help.
what was trikertroys website address??? I was on it once but cant remember??? Tnx..RR

:Shrug: I linked from BTW homepage but I'm sure there's still a website out there but I'm telling you if you searched the VW and homemade pages here there are some good looking LLs built by people on here that will run a v8 or anything else . Look on youtube and follow ONETONMAGOO videos of some of his front end builds ,VW maniac on here is another good one .

Ratrodney.
all of Troy's stuff is long gone, he was a great person,
Anyhow I build LL frontends if you ever need one or anything else as far as that, would like to see your trike when you get it all done.
Take care and good luck.

Thanks everyone.
Ill be gettin with on some questions I have. what kind of prices do you have on yer leading link front ends? PM the best way to get hold of ya? Tnx again...RR

I found a 53 inch wide 8.8 inch rear thats got 3.55 gears and a posi. Its been drilled out for chevy 6 lug rims....which I think i got a deal worked out for a few bad lookin 26 inch rims n tires thats...ta dah!!!!!! chevy rims!
p.s. i love vws to. My Dad was a vw mechanic. I have a VW tat on my right forearm.ThumbUp RR

i personally don't like the posi on a trike. got a limited slip on a c5 vette based trike built for a guy & it is good until you hit the least little slick spot. And that with a fairly stock LS1! With a blown engine, I wouldn't try it!
