Mounting of the shock on the front end, HELP

A good morning to everyone. It has taken me some time to find notes and things of my past dealing with my front end project. I have found most of it, I think, LOL.

My drawings did not come out in the scanner, so no picture to share......…….

My dilemma is that my front shock absorber will be off center of the fork tube center line. My rocker is 1/8 of a inch from center line. The eye of the shock is 5/8" wide and so is the fork tab the axle hole is through.

So I can put a 1/8th inch spacer down on the longer bolt that mounts the lower eye to the rocker arm, or I can make the upper eye mount offset from center so that the shock is perpendicular to the lower eye mount too the rocker, this would eliminate the need of a lower spacer at the rocker and should provide a better fit, at least I think so.

What do you have to say, offset the top bracket, or keep top on center line and use a 1/8th inch spacer on the lower eye at the rocker ? Help :xzqxz:

Could you take a pix of the parts layed out to make question more clear? First thought would be to have shocks centered, but a 1/8 in offset maybe not too bad...but most important shocks should be parallel to fork tubes. my .02

A lot of them have the shocks offset to the outside to make room for fender, brake stays, ect.

I would probably let it be the 1/8 offset from the leg......unless there were other clearance problems.

Granddaughters have been staying with us, so moved a lot of things around and lost paper work, but found it last night.

All was centered up top on the fork tube, and there is a 1/8th inch gap between rocker and lower shock eye, the space of the RPP flanged oil lite bushing, so I was going to install a bushing at the shock hole of the rocker arm so all lined up even, at least that is what the notes said.

I also found my mapped out swing radius and more important notes. I feel back on track.

Pictures soon as I get stuff made. THANK YOU

A good day to everyone, we do hope all are doing well and taken care of family.

I finally got my shock mounts cut and fabricated, now I just have to finish them out so they have that shine to them.

I was wondering about getting the roughness sanded off and than I wondered if the buffer and series of wheels could work it to that fine mirror finish. Here is one in progress and one how I got them.
