Motor Trike ?

We have a '96 GL1500A w/MT conversion. Is there any way to determine year of manufacture on the MT? I am 3rd owner on this trike. From what I have been told, 1st owner, whom I don't know, had the kit sitting in the crate for a year before the conversion. 2nd owner had the trike 2 yrs. Trike has 39k on it.

Think the serial number is underneath the trike on a piece of black alum. Once you have that call Motortrike and they should be able to tell you. I had the same problem and they were very helpful. You can also go to their website.

Wonder about the year in the crate thing.I was told they would not seel to the public.Just wonder how that happened.RIDE SAFE

Motor trike only sells to authorized installers. Maybe the first owner took the Motor trike training to become a installer. Some where on the rear end is a stamped serial#. Maybe the date, can't remember. you can call motor trike with the number and they can tell you when it was sold/installed and the gear ratio.

I think the year in the crate was at the dealership. Sorry I didn't make that clearer.

I just talked to motortrike about that and they told me to get the # off the top of rearend housing and send it to them for the year of the conversion. My # has 5 digits, had to use mirror and flashlight to read it, then it is backward so you have to turn it around. My # is 11353, Hope this helps.
