Lyndall Brake Pads

Final update (for a while at least) :gah: Lyndall has not started production on the pads for the '14 and '15 MY. and has no plans for them, probably for this season (?) They are sending me a shipping tag, and said will give me a full refund.:clapping:

NOW... since I still need new rear pads, can anyone tell me if they have found EBC (or other equal) rear pads for the '14s? All my searches for them also return '09-'13 pads. Really don't want to go back to the OEM HD pads, especially since I saw all the voids in the friction material on mine.

Thanks in advance!

Latest update... I could not find anything online from dealers such as J&P and Dennis Kirk about EBC pads for the '14 TG, so I went through the VERY clumsy EBC site and found the part #s:

FA641/4V Semi-sintered $46.52 on Amazon
FA641/HH Sintered $56.23 on Amazon

I also found a local dealer about 5 miles down the road! I will check with them tomorrow about price and delivery.

I am disappointed about the Lyndall, but looking forward to getting the EBCs, and getting a better pad on the bike.

I always just download their current catalog in .PDF format.
I think you will like the EBC pads. They put off a lot of dust, but that wipes off or just a hose.
But the extra brakes are nice !

Do you use their sintered or semi-sintered? Not much difference in price...

No problem. How did it go? Did you get it all done?

I haven't started on it yet. This weekend was taken up with a 30th reunion and the little time I had left I installed my trailer light wiring harness so I could pull my Aluma MCT. I am hoping to get on it next weekend.

The EBC FA641/4HH rear pads should be 4 pads per card. I got a 2 pad card from Amazon "Powersports" vendor and EBC is sending me a replacement set. EBC said some 2 pad cards got out early in production.

Found a local shop that handles EBC. They did not have the 641HH in stock, but verified 4 to a set. Their pricing was almost as good as from Amazon, so I ordered a set, should be in tomorrow. We will see how it goes.

EBC sent me a complete new set of 4 rear pads and clips .... so now I have 6 rear pads and clips. :xzqxz:

Dealer said at 9K miles my fronts are 4 and my rears are 3 .... and told me I have at least another year on my stock brake pads.

Should I wait or change to the new EBC HH pads now and store the original pads????

Sorry if I am hi-jacking this thread!

Bob, Since I reopened it recently, I think the focus has shifted anyway... I will put my next question out there. if I/we are breaking the rules, someone please say something. I am just here to learn and help ((if I can).

Got my EBC 641HH pads the other day (local dealer, only a bit more expensive than eBay, and I can deal with them face to face, really good people) and was happy to see that they were the right ones, and were 4 pads to the package. I noticed that they had 4 new anti-rattle spring clips in the package, and looking at the calipers, there are recesses both top and bottom for them, but there are only clips on top on mine, and the service manual makes a point of saying install clips on top only. I am a little confused; if the clips are only supposed to go on the top, why are the calipers set up to handle both, and why do the new pad sets come with enough for both top and bottom?

thanks,

Good question. I just put the new EBC's on my Free Wheeler. When I installed them I hadn't got my shop manual yet so I put the springs on top and bottom, instead of top only. That was 5000 miles ago. The brakes work perfectly. Guess I'll just leave the 4 springs on.
