lowers vent slides sticking

What is recommended for lubing up the lowers vent controls. The left side glides smoothly open and closed, but the right side is very difficult to slide either way. I don't want to break it, since it appears to be all plastic.

A silicone based lube works well for plastic...

I put just a little vasoline on mine, on the moving joints. Then moved the side with one hand and the vent with he other about two or three minutes it worked fairly easy. Had to remove the little panel on the lower to get to the insides where the moving parts are. Used a Q-tip to apply lube.
