I want a rear tire for front. Rears are almost double the tread depth.

with that said will a tire with this tread pattern handle better (or worse) than others with a smoother center?

Avon make a trike specific front tire that has the deeper tread you are looking for. The MT/90B-16RF is the same size as your 130/90-16. That is what I am running on our trike. Wearing good and handles well.

Yes they do…Avon had pulled that tire …. They were falling apart is what I heard. I certainly would not trust it.

My original question is the tread on the continental is not just on the sides like many others.

I would trust the Avon trike tire (they are made for trikes)

I 've had two Avon's on my trike and I am very happy, with how it works (nice ~n~ smooth) and how easy it is to steer...

Not sure if "micky mouse'n tires is a good thing to do, cause each tire is made for a special reason...........This is why a rear tire is wide'rrr than a front tire,

I have never had an issue with Avon tires. I ran that brand on my last few two wheelers and have used their trike tire on my trike since it was built in 2015 with no issues...
