On my 2013 TriGlide, I want to replace the license plate lamp bulbs to LED. The supplement service manual, states to remove the lamp from the back of the trunk door. Is there another way I can go without removing the entire lamp off the trunk door? If I do need to remove the lamp from the back of the trunk, the supp. manual states you need to take off the two locknuts that is holding the lamp. The parts catalog does not show these two locknuts. What is the part number for these two locknut or what size are they. I have not started any disassemble and just planning ahead before I start.

Since the weather here was in the 60's today, I replaced the stock license plate bulbs with LED bulbs. You need to remove the lamp cover from the trunk door in order to get to the two screws that hold the license lamp assembly to the license lamp cover. I just follow the Supp. service manual. The locknuts that holds the license plate cover to the trunk are 1/4-20 locknuts. They are not listed in the TriGlide Parts Catalog. The TriGlide supp. service manual does states to remove the locknuts and replace with new locknuts. It was also a P.I.A. trying to get out the old bulbs. You need super small fingers since space is very limited. I used a plastic type screwdriver and pry them out. Hopefully this may help the next person who needs to replace the license plate bulbs.

A follow up to the above. The 2013 TriGlide Parts Catalog has part #10 on the diagram page next to the License Plate Lamp Cover part #83398-09. This #10 is Harley's part #10968(O-Ring). When I disassemble the License plate lamp Cover, there were no o-rings. So I assuming this parts should be the 1/4-20 locknut, part #7686. I had an error like this on the Harley's Parts Catalog for my 1991 FLHTP.
