Msocko3, That's what you get for going ligher horse power. :D

My 2012 TG and all my other past Harleys lived just great on 87. I'm old and don't need speed anymore. Just cheaper gas. LOL

Theres nothing like the feeling you get when you twist that throttle and your arms feel like their being stretched:D. I've never owned a stock Harley, the only stock ones I've ridden are new ones the dealer would let me take out or someone else's who wanted me to listen for a noise or running issue.

Msocko3, I hear you.
I, on the other hand, have never owned a modified motorcycle. Except my new TriGlide and only because I wanted to bring down the heat a little. I haven't done any engine work - just add on mods.
I still get the pulling on the arms sensation - maybe not as hard as you get, but enough for these 68 year old arms. :)
I am a spirited driver(car and bike) most people and especially my wife hate to ride with me. Which is a good thing. pepper

Ozarkryder, I love riding in the Ozarks - there's not a damn section of road that's straight in the whole state. :D :D ThumbUp

We go down there just about every year - just to see how the chosen ones get to ride. We have a HOG chapter member that retired to Harrison and we visit him once in a while and ride the Pigs Trail (that's where I totaled my Ultra to the tune of $13K) and you ain't a real biker if you've never rode up Mt. Nebo. :AGGHH:

ohae
you need to read motorcycle consumer news test reports on ethanol.... which talks about separation of fuels and other major issues

all you have is a corn feed opinion and apparently no experience.

I've been running ethanol in ALL my engines for 25+ years and no problems. If you choose to call that no experience, fine.

A revelation of course. Hope this makes its way over to the 1800 forum so Storm can read it. He so needs it, but of course, it won't matter.

Just the simple fact that corn fuel is not allowed in aircraft ends the debate right there. Can't have metal tubes filled with humans falling out of the sky, and the gubmint knows it. Yet, they still force it on us.

What the %$# don't you get?

It's the editors opinion (and almost every person on earth) after consulting experts in the field.
If you've ever read MCN you'd know it's a pretty unbiased mag. There are no sponsors or ads in MCN.

What I don't get is very simple: When it is explained that the issues are with storage & fuel systems why to you continue to blame the fuel? Obviously some distributors and retailers are able store & dispense the fuel properly. Why can't others?

Seems to me there another theoretical answer, which obviously would never work because it is what it is......If anyone that uses fuel, which is everyone on the planet, and the pumps gave us a choice, at the same price, the freaking E10 pump would rarely be used. Again, the politicians know everything and we have no choice.

Silly me, thinking that facts had any place in this discussion! I should have been telling you about what happened to my neighbor's uncle's best friend's nephew who when he dipped the cat's tail in ethanol and tried to light it on fire, NOTHING happened! The darn stuff wouldn't burn! Worthless! And the gub'ment is forcing kids to use this stuff for cat torture!

Hmmmmm...lets start a thread extolling the wonderful virtues of corn gas, and see how many positive posts it generates.

"Facts" are fine...dosn't mean we cant complain about the corn crap. I reckon the only people happy about pig and cow food fuels are those profiting from them somehow.

As someone that has worked on MANY carbs that have been run on the stuff, it will corrode them bad. As someone that has checked the fuel mileage on different things old and new, the fuel mileage is worse. These facts have proven again and again. I have built a couple of motors to run strictly on E85. The run great on it. But it is scientific fact ethanol has less BTU's per gallon than gasoline. It simply takes more of it to make same power. To me, there is the rub. Don't make me buy something at a cheaper price but then I'm gonna have to use more so therefore it's gonna cost me more per gallon. So therefore no thank you & don't force me to buy it!

I don't think any of that will phase oahe one bit since they are NOT HIS FACTS, but hey, everyone has the right to think any way they want - right or WRONG. ThumbUp
