Late nighters---unite!!!

I got an Email tonight from the guy that let me stay in his yard and took me to get a new tire for my motorhome after the blowouts earlier this month. He said he just put 4 new tires on his camping trailer.

I'm glad my situation was able to help someone out.

Hope that somebody is awake to talk tonight. I'll check back every few minutes just in case.

Mowed the grass today. That's always fun.

A guy is supposed to come and open up our pool tomorrow. This is going to be our first full season with it open, and I'm going to try to learn as much from him as I can. I doubt he'll mind as pool stuff isn't his living, he just does it on the side. It probably means my fat butt will be down in the pool with him, scrubbing in down. I especially need to pay attention when he hooks up the filtration system. The pool lost about a foot of water during the winter, but that only because I was too lazy to go out and pump the water of off the winter cover. It would have lost some, but not quite that much.

I've never had a desire to own a pool. Plenty of family members and friends have them so I get all the pleasure without the work of keeping clean, mixing the chemicals for a healthy balance and all other maintenance issues that arise occasionally. Living where it is a limited season has never been worth the cost or effort for me personally.

Funny you should say that, because I have no desire to own one either.

However, that has been my wife's dream though. She put one up at her mom and dad's house when she lived there when she was single, and has wanted one at our house the entire 20 years since we've been married. Last year was her lucky year...and my unlucky one. I suppose it'll be my job to be pool boy.

But that's okay, I have my toy--the TG.

The best I can say is: A happy wife makes a happy life. :)

My wife never wanted one. I was lucky, or we would have had one too. :pepper:

My wife and I don't care much about swimming pools. Our next door neighbor has one that he spends his days off hanging around it,though.

We had a deck built on the uphill end of it (the pool is built into the side of a hill), that's pretty good sized. I plan of spending some time on it this summer. I'm really not that much of a fan of getting in the pool, only I'm sure I will anyhow to keep the kids and wife happy. One fun thing--we bought a gopro with Best Buy certificate when they couldn't fix our old sony home theatre we bought 4 years ago. Sometimes it pays to buy the extended warranty. I pretty sure we paid $100 for the warranty and got over $300 worth of merchandise with the credit certificate.

Oh, funny story...the sony quit working over in December of '14, and we had no idea where we bought it until an email came to me in February of '16 from bestbuy wanting me to buy another year of warranty on our Sony Home Theatre. I had already bought another system to replace it, so tah-dah, we now could buy that gopro we had been wanting. We can play in the pool with that camera since it's waterproof.

Yup, I'm rambling again.

The house we are in came with a darn pool. We said no pool but the darn place was just what we wanted otherwise. I've tried to get my wife to let me fill it in with dirt and call it a garden but she won't let me. She uses it but I don't. So I make her care for it. Well until something needs fixed. And that seems to be all the time. They are worthless unless you live in them.

My wife wants a friggin' heater in it now. Grrr...

I have the A/C war here, Common sence, your hot, get wet, your cold, put another log on the fire. She just doesn't get it. :gah:

Mine won't get in the darn thing until it hits 80º. That last about a week before it's 85º and then it's too hot for her. WOMEN!!!!

The guy I called to open the pool was a no-show. Didn't call, text or anything. My wife called the people that put in our pool to get them to open it up. Gonna cost about twice as much, but we know we can depend on them to show up.

Yep in for the long haul...

Sure hope you don't lose anything. Has the water risen slowly?

Since I've got a 'guest' here (of course I'm really a guest of Zook's here in the forum), I might as well try to entertain a little, and tell about my day yesterday...

As I mentioned the pool guy was a no-show, and I went out right after I got home from work to try to clean the accumulated leaves out of the center of the winter pool cover after the little pump got out 90% of the water on top of it. OH MY GOD did they smell bad!! I thought I was gonna puke!! Took me close to an hour to do it, because it was so awkward trying to get them out with the brush on a long pole.

Then later when trying to go to sleep my face mask fell apart (I have severe sleep apnea, and use a CPAP machine). I called my medical supplier to get a new one, and found out my Rx had run out in January...so I had to get my doc to give me a script to get a new one. Thank God for one lady that works at my docs office, or I wouldn't have been able to get it done until after the holiday. I couldn't imagine having to sleep for 3 days without my CPAP.

But I'm a wuss like that.

Right after I get off work, we are taking our Girl Scout Troop to a local cemetery to help put flags on the graves of Veterans.

This will help the girls toward earning a journey award, and at the same time do a decent thing for deceased Veterans and their families.
