Late nighters---unite!!!

Enjoying that trike of yours?

been riding the 1100 classic all week. Tonight was the first time out with the trike this week. Last time I rode it, I got caught in a downpour on the way home...I never got out to clean it off...what a mess. Will clean it when I get home in another hour or two.

Going on a nice ride this morning and early afternoon. Got to work again tonight....

I rode to work night before last. Didn't rain all night long until about an hour before it was time to go home. Then it quit before I left, but the road were wet and the bike got a lot of highway road spray on it. Grrr.

Rode last night and everything appears to be good to go this morning.

Rode up to the camp yesterday and got caught in 2 passing storms on the interstate. Good thing it was a warm rain. Had t shirt and jeans on. My mission was to get to the camp b4 it became a all out storm due to the 1.5 mile item 4 road to the trailer. That stuff is like cement to wash off. Made it there, then all hell broke loose for about a half hr. We are going to pay for the mild winter we had, as the ocean waters are warmer than normal. Proably a more active tropical storm season along with hurricanes as well. Hope not, but mother nature does strange things. Hang in there all you texans and hang tight.

Two feet of water in the house and rising fast. We stayed upstairs last night and got out this morning.

Zook, sorry to hear that. I can't imagine what it is like to go through that. Our property around the house is OK but the creek at the back of the property is out of the banks. Trees are down on a couple of the neighbors houses, roads washed out etc. Couldn't get into Bellville this morning but was able to get into Brenham to check on my 94 year old mother. No phone service in our area for 2 days.

Take care and hope it gets better for you quickly.

Thanks Sunman. Never been through a flood before, its a really helpless feeling watching muddy water fill your house and garage up. It happened quick.

Dang, thats terrible. I see the news every night and it shows Texas getting Rain and more Rain with Flooding. At least your Ok, things in your house can be replaced, but not you guys. Take Care and stay Safe.

That just plain sucks Zook. The last house I was in flooded but only about 2 inches. That little bit ruined the hardwood flooring. I can just imagine what your place will be like. I do hope your insurance covers it. Your entire lower floor and contents I'm guessing will need replaced and reconstructed. I know our little flood was a nightmare. Good luck.ThumbUp Prayers headed your way.

Keep you in our prayer's

Sadly I know what your are going through we were flooded in 1996 within four inches of coming upstairs. When I had the basement laid up I add an extra row for finishing area in future.

We will certainly keep you in our prayers, sorry to hear about your plight. fred

We were flooded several years ago but only 2 or 3 inches in the house. Still did a lot of damage and was a big mess. Terrible feeling watching it and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Good luck and god bless.

Wow, I can't imagine 2 feet of water in the house. For water to get into our house at all, the animals would be gathering 2 by 2 outside a giant boat.

Last May,we were less than an hour away from having to evacuate our home due to all the flooding in Texas.
A lot of people in this city weren't so lucky.

Took the Scouts to the cemetery today. Our 6 scouts planted well over 100 flags. The local AmVets supplied the flags to us. There were a few other GS troops as well as some Boy Scout troops.

I told the girls to not just plant flags, but read who they were planting the flags for, and what branch of service and what conflict they may have served in. I got a little excited and called the girls over to look at one footer that was a Veteran from the Civil War. Surprisingly, only one girl knew what the Civil War was even about. I explained, and one girl said, "Really? There was a war that was partly fought right here in Kentucky?"

I had them look at his death date, which was in 1920. I told them that the likelihood of anybody alive that remembered the man was very remote. I then said something to try and make them think...as long as there is someone alive that remembers a person, they are not truly gone. Then one girl spoke up and said, "I'll always be alive then, because there's all kinds of video of me, and everybody can see me and remember me, even people that didn't know me before I died."

Kids say the darnedest things.

So, I'm going to jinx myself...

I've had no further battery issues. I tried something somebody told me to do, which was put it in reverse and see how long it drags my battery down to 10. Did that, and it was only for a few seconds, then pops right back up to almost 12 while still backing up. So that sounds good.

Haven't hooked it up to the tender the last 2 days between rides to work, and it hasn't shown any signs of being weak at all. In fact, when I first turn on the ignition before I hit start, it is a little above 12. Goes down a little below that when I engage the starter.

Still, when I get the time, I need to take it to the dealership for a load test. But the only days I have available for that now is Saturdays, because Raeden is out of school, and I'm not taking her for any rides until (hopefully) her behavioral issues towards me changes. The wife doesn't get off work until 4:30, and it takes about 30 minutes to get to the shop. They tell me that 45 minutes to an hour isn't enough time to do a proper load test, so I'm stuck going up there after work one Saturday morning.

I hate doing that too, because usually anything that gets done at the shop is s...l...o...w... Even just to get my horn changed took 3 hours. And they weren't even busy that day.

Hey Scott sorry for the time out but real busy getting ready for my trip. If you are on Facebook checkout my page, "Steve's Motorcycle Adventure 2016."
Will do. If you're still around, whereabouts are you right now in your adventure? (Can't get on facebook here at work.)

Good Morning Folks. Just checking in, now that the cat is fed.:AGGHH:

Hi Bill.

Our cat is very demanding as well. She won't shut up until we feed her. Something else bad right now...the fur on her stomach is all matted up. We are going to have to take clippers and shave her down. That's gonna be a whole heap of fun.

Got any Valium you could slip in her food?

I wish...

I'm going to have to hold her back legs while Bridget holds her head back, and Michele will do the shaving. If we can hold on slightly longer than a bull ride, she'll have the deed done. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about front claws, as we had them removed.

Good luck with the cat rodeo. It sounds like you may done this before.

Hay Scott, watchin a show about KSP , the Caslel on msnbc. The day shift .

It's nick named "The Castle on the Lake" and it's located in Eddyville, KY. It's the roughest prison in the Ky prison system. I wouldn't wanna work there. The state officers make roughly half what I make here.

Made it for another round...

But, lost the round to the cat. At least I did. She managed to turn her head around and bite the fire out of my right thumb just where it attaches to my palm. Dang that hurt! Bled like a stuck hog for a few minutes. But the wife (who's a nurse) said that was a good thing because bleeding gets rid of infection. So the cat is partially shaved and I've got a gimp right hand.

Didn't stop me from riding to work though.

I'll be dipped!! Just looked at weather radar, and there's a string of severe thunderstorms heading right for us. Bike's gonna get wet. It doesn't look like they're going to last long though. Betsy need a bath anyway.ThumbUp
