We have a 96 1500sethat we bought new in 96 a few years back we had progressive springs put in the front with the 15wt oil as recomended.
In 06 we had a lehman trike kit installed with a four and a half degree rake kit it rode like a log wagon no give to the front forks.
Drained all the 15wt oil out and put in automatic transmission fluid, wow what a diffrence rides great now.
So if any of you have a 1500 with progressve springs and a rake kit and it rides harsh try removing what ever oil you have in the forks and replace with atf.

atf

It came from the trike installer when you put a rake kit on it puts the forks at a stepper angle thus making it harder for the forks to compress and the progressive springs make it even harder thus making the trike ride rougher,by putting in the atf it makes it easier for the forks to compress making for a better ride
