jeff and elise in the USA

yeah. what hd russ said. weve been having computer dramas but I think ive got it sorted.
as someone mentioned above this is an awesome way to meet cool likeminded people, and they don't come better than Russ and Mary. Russ is my new twin brother (almost identical) ( that's an in joke) seriously though they are the best...
heres a pic of Elise out on day one riding at jack daniels grave in Lynchburg tennesse.

met some fellow riders at Robbinsville (dragons rest cabins) we lit a fire and had a few drinks discussing tomorrows riding the dragon tail.

trike and trailer behaved well, no dramas, but its a twisty beast of a road, what an awesome ride. there was a tow truck hoisting a bike up to the road from an incident about 20 minutes before. there had been an off at the same place the day before too.

im looking at the pics as I post, and didn't realise elise caught that on the camera. she did well considering she was a bit nervous after the fireside yarns the night before, and the curves

after surviving the dragons tail we headed to Nashville, and took some locals advice to take some backroads. we came across this trike and chopper shop on that route and did some good shopping there. prices were unbelievably good and nice people too.

im not a country fan, but on the way to see the opry we found cooters dukes of hazard museum. I thought that was gone and forgotten, but once again I was wrong. couldn't resist being excited seeing the general lee.

next to the opry is a huge resort with a suspect name. who would name a resort Gaylord. I did my best Gaylord impersonation for elises and your entertainment

next day on the road to Bloomington to meet HD Russ and a group of riders who had arranged to meet us there. unfortunately the day didn't go to plan, after a wet start which ended fairly quickly, back pain kicked in and had to make a stop for a backrest. I stupidly thought a backrest would just slip into the seat and be all good. lost an hour or morebuying and fitting the bracket. then the roadworks and conjestion on the freeway set in and we were crawling and stop start often. what should have been an 8 hour ride a 14 hour odessey..my and elises sincere apologies to those who came and waited a long time.

finally made it there only to get dodgy directions from the GPS and had to be escorted to Chucks HD by an off duty school bus driver.(thanks whoever you were..) finally got to Russ about 6.30 PM . We still got an expert tour guide and with a quick lesson on how the comms system works even had a narrated tour of route 66. ( can you guess where we are LOL)

well that's me done for tonight.. its 12.05 am and elise has been asleep for a few hours.i should be too. will post more as I can. should be easier now ive got this computer sussed out.

Chicago is a beautiful city with terrible road surfaces. the architecture is superb. we didn't see a single murder despite its reputation. we found the people extremely nice and helpful...except taxi drivers. which while im on the subject, I would say this applies all across America... people are awesome except cabbies... do cabbies come from area 51??
