Just a simple question about the Jagg 10-row. What all do you need to install one on a '13 Tri-Glide ? My trike did not come with a cooler.

Have seen 'em listed as complete ready to install BUT you must also have a #4600 or a#4700 plus a Jagg nipple. Keep looking up the phrase 'complete ready to install'.

What the he#% do I need ??

Are you sure your 2013 HD trike does not have an oil cooler? I thought all trikes through 2013 have a cooler as standard equipment. Any way with the Jagg cooler you'll need an adapter for the filter mount to marry the unit together. The numbers you made reference to are adapters, one with a thermo and the other without thermo. Having small hands makes the job easier.

Dang you're going to make me go out in the cold to check. I was thinking the sales guy said the cooler was an option.

On the hands issue, I'm in trouble in that arena.

Thanks

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!! As the song says "Baby, It's Cold Outside"

Yep, there is a very small oil cooling system on my '13. How much good that could do, I don't know. Guess that means I need one of those nipple thingies too.

Am going to do some searching in here to see members thoughts on the HD unit.

Since your in Texas, I will tell you the stock oil cooler isn't going to do very well. You might want to consider both the Jagg 10 row with fan assist and the Wards Parts Werks or the Love Jugs engine fans. Both the Wards and Love Jug fans will blow air on the heads and help keep the engine temps down some at slower speeds to slow down the instant engine temp rise.

Catalyst removal, better flowing mufflers and a retune will also help keep the engine heat from cooking your right leg as quickly as it will do to you in stock form in the Texas heat.

Since I'm in Texas !!! People forget the Panhandle of Texas. We have 3-4" of snow and the high was 24 today. But that being said its going to be 64 tomorrow !!! 45 straight days over 100 last year.

But, I hear you on the heat. Going to check into Wards Werks. Noticed Wiz and Dennis mentioned them several times.

Thanks,

i installed one on my 2007 flhtc and the install went pretty easy for me. just make sure when you cut the hose you do not cut it too short. the hardest part of the install for me was figuring how the damn thing went together and after i figured that part out, it was easy. they give you enough hose so if you do f- up there is enough left over to do it again. total time of install for me was about 1 hour and if i had to do it again i could probably do one in 50 minutes or less. not that hard so go for it and take your time and you will do fine.

Everything is bigger in Texas. Just figured that would go for the heat too..........

i have a 2013 trike and i put the wards fans on it, and have a oil temp gauge on dash, and my oil temps is always proper range no matter how slow or fast i drive it, and the wards fans are a easy install.

"holy dead presidents and Benjamin Franklins" Batman !

Started reading about Harley's and heat yesterday. Decided cooling the oil was the answer, Jagg here I come. NO WAIT ! What heats the oil, ahhhhhhh ha, the heat from the cylinders. So we're going to cool the cylinders, Wards Parts here I come instead. (Been talking with Jason with Wards all evening ). No, WAIT, would be best to use both. Cha-ching, cha-ching. Yeah, I know, it's only money.....and I'm going to have visions of heat index, cylinder temp acronyms running thru my head instead of sugar plums.

Right now I'm at $775.00 and I thought $250.00-$300.00 was going to be workable. DUH !!!!

Did I fail to say that I have a kidney shaped mini-Beast......(Jason has an answer for that one though).

That just MIGHT even Help the Temps stay a little Lower, with a MUCH Lighter Wallet! LOL ;)
On a More Serious Note, Sometimes ya Just Gotta Do, Whatcha GOTTA Do to keep the Temps Down Brother. I Put a Ten Row on my FL that I run a Hack on Sometimes, and up here in the Great White North, it USUALLY does the Job.
They Brought out all these Fancy Hi-End Babies AFTER I Spent all my Money on this set-up. If I Would have waited another couple of years, (Or Found Them Sooner.....) I WOULD have Bought the one with the Fans in them at Least......
Good Luck Brother

Got a Wards Werks FCS fans, Jagg oil cooler system and the HD oil temp gauge installed on my '13 TG today. All did not go that smooth but got it done.

Wards FCS:
I have a mini-Beast horn which requires a special mount for extra $$$. PLUS I have a HD spark plug bridge. That being said I had to modify the mounting to get the fans off the cylinders/spark plug bridge. Works and looks great.

Jagg oil cooler system.
Installed the 10row fan assist model from Jagg. The install went great 'til I got to part where you mount the mounting the regulator. You need to test fit the regulator once you've installed the mounting bracket. I followed the instructions and they don't mention it, but the regulator was going to have to fit between the down tubes, never happen. Had to disassembly the whole thing. Bent the bracket out and re-assembled it. Then the harness is attached to the regulator and this is a real PIA, but got it done.

Ohhhhhh, side note. When positioning the hose clamps on the hoses next to the filter adapter make sure the heads on the clamp are on the side and NOT on the top. On the top you'll have problems installing a filter.

Using a K&P Engineering Micronic Oil Filter

HD oil temp gauge
Pulled that worthless 'Air Temp' gauge and moved the 'Volt Meter' to where the 'Air Temp' WAS! I then mounted the 'Oil Temp' gauge where the 'Volt Meter' gauge was, putting the temp and pressure gauges right there together.

Now, for the fun part. You need to pig tail the gauges to each side. The oil temp gauge uses the 'Air Temp' plugs AND the harness from the oil pan sensor plugs into plug 107 (the air temp sensor).

Don't know if this help anybody but thought I'd share.

The Ultra Cool oil cooler has two fans and 18 rows and the oil lines are braded stainless steel lines with brass fittings on each end, no hose clamps or cutting of hoses.
