"Iron Head" Tri-Glide Trunk Lock"

Has anyone on here have any experience with one of these?
Sounds like a great idea!

Although it’s an “electric” lock and have to use a key each time you want to open it… they also have a key fob option, and have an extra mechanical cable for back up also.

I never had any problems… yet.
(Well, I lied… when I disassembled mine for paint, I actually broke mine and had to get a new bezel).

But I guess this is one of our “weak links” and many state on some FB groups that these break on their own and the truck is open while riding and don’t even know it.
This may be on my “next year mod list” the more I’m researching about it.

Most say don’t slam it, push it shut and should not have any problems. But I can definitely see the very small engagement points.

Again, no issues at this time… but this sounds like a great idea! And to take take of a potential issue and loose contents while riding.

They have no website, and mainly advertise on FB (Facebook) and have a couple videos out on YouTube.

Just curious of how many on here already have one?

After my stock lock fell apart in Daytona with a lot of WTF's attempting to fix it I found this online. I went with the full monte, light package and remote. Hardest part of the install was working in mirror image inside trunk. I took the door off to make it a little easier. No issues since and so much easier to use. A little pricey, but no one has been behind me blowing their horn and flashing their lights since. Well made unit...

One of what? I don't see an image of anything. Can you provide a link?

The “Iron Head Trunk Lock”
As mentioned, they don’t have a website, but I’ll put a link on one of their YouTube videos:

If you have Facebook, look up: Iron Head Tri Glide Lock

Nice to hear. Yes, it is a little pricey for sure…. Granted I can appreciate the machining that was done on the brackets and it really seems well thought out too.
I’ve yet to encounter any issues, but since I accidentally broke the bezel when I was disassembling to paint, I know first hand… and definitely see the weak link on this latch.
It’s definitely not a sales pitch either!
There is literally a small percentage of actual latch engagement and that bezel is just plastic that the switch mechanism also relies on.

I will most likely purchase one in the future and have it as a “to do” over this winter.

Thanks for the reply, experience and thoughts on this.

There are three things that I do to make sure my trunk lock performs like it was designed.

I use the small Harley lubricant (syringe) and oil it every 2 or 3 months. I never slam it. I also have one of those re-usable tie wraps pulling the cable arms inward several inches which only allows the trunk to open about 5 inches. This is my "safety catch" so that if the latch would ever fail at least my trunk would not open all the way and allow my junk-in-the-trunk to tumble out.
