Insurance

I live in Delaware and I seem to be having a problem getting full value coverage for my trike. The insurance companies are only insuring the value of the bike and not including the trike kit. Is anyone else having this problem and can some suggest a insurance company I should contact? This is a issue we should be sharing with someone expressing a interest in buying these trikes. This certainly makes a HD look a whole lot better to me. And we cannot forget all Honda dealers do not work on trikes.

I do know how insurance works. If someone hits my trike, yes, they will have to pay for it. But, if I total my trike or someone uninsured totals my trike I will only get the bike value not the cost to replace the trike kit.

Why keep this information to ourselves only helping Honda and insurance companies to get richer? But, we are getting left out in the cold....

Thanks

Insure the kit as an accessory.....

I called the home office to verify this, just to make sure the agent was correct.

I'm insured with State Farm in Indiana.

When I triked my Wing, I was told to take pictures and keep all receipts. It would be covered and there was no increase in the premium!!! The conversion was covered as an accessory.

That was in 2010.

Don't know if that is still the case now or how coverage is done in your state.

Thanks

I will ask the agents about adding the trike as a accessory. I don't understand why they haven't made the suggestion when I have expressed my concern to have the trike covered.

Pay more get less.

insurance

got mine thru Progressive, insured bike and trike kit as an accessory. Premium seems to be high but coverage is good.
