Installed a HD police seat today

I installed a new takeoff HD police seat today. The seat fits fine and the shock bolts right up, so does the front pivot bracket. The plastic shield that goes on underneath it will not fit. I had a rear passenger pillion off a 2003 Road king so I put it on to test fit and its to tall and hits the spring seat so that wont work either.

I did not get to test ride it as it started raining by the time I got finished but I sit on it. It sits you higher ( I had always heard that). It sits you farther back from the tank (I had not heard that before). My Freedom Windshield may still work but a bar change is in order.

I can't wait to do a test ride on it and see if it softens up the ride. I have all winter to figure out a pan for underneath of it and a pillion seat for it. I want a utopia back rest for it also.

I enclosed a couple of pixs.

Those pictures make's it look like it should be a more comfy ride. please keep us all posted :yahoo:

What about the rear passenger seat, your photo's look like nothing is there for a seat...OR is it just the way the picture looks??

Very cool.

Spring seats, properly set up, can be really comfortable.

This Sporty, with a spring seat, rides more comfortably than most stock FLH's.

Are you going to be riding a passenger behind that spring seat?
