Pretty straight forward install. Remove floorboard then remove master cylinder bolts cotter pin washer and pin that attaches the brake arm to the master cylinder. Remove the nut holding on the brake arm. Then loosen top engine guard bolt but don't remove it. Then remove the two lower engine guard bolts.

Remove original rear brake peddle and leave the back O ring on the shaft. Now swing engine guard forward at bottom giving you enough room to manipulate the new Ext rear brake arm in place. Install pin washer and cotter pin, install master cylinder bolts washer and nut on brake arm (you do not need or use outer original O Ring). Grease zerk fitting on new peddle. Reinstall floorboard and bolts in engine guard.(Note..don't forget to tighten the grease zerk fitting into the new Ext rear brake peddle).

Note... It is very tedious dealing with the cotter pin washer and pin that hooks to the master cylinder. This will test your mechanical patience a little but can be done.

I love the comfort and the feel of this brake peddle on our Tri Glide it provided a much improved feel. Well worth the cost.

Ride Safe All, :)

Thanks for the write-up and pics Bill, looking to do the same on ours over the winter.

Thanks Bill for your post. I ordered mine the next day.

Installed it last weekend and today the weather was 77* and sunshine. Got a chance to ride a few miles.
I have use of the full floorboard. No need to rotate the foot out from under the peddle and it is lower that the original. Tried a few panic stops locking up the rear tires.

Thanks DK/Kevin; next is replacing the rear shocks and I will be ready for 2017 trips.

Good deal Rick.

The rear ext brake peddle worked for you like it did for me. I also have installed the Pro Action rear shocks set up for our needs on our 2017 Tri Glide from DK Custom. A must have over the factory air shocks, you will love the rear shock upgrade after you do it.

Ride Safe, :)

As nice as these are on the trikes, they are even nicer on the 2 wheelers, gives a lot more slow speed control in the friction zone.

btw, I think you will really enjoy the ride quality improvement with the new shocks! :)
