I went to all the trouble of putting a louder horn on my bike and I have yet to use it except to honk at cows watching me roll by. When I could have used it I was busy avoiding the idiot trying to run over me. But I have one none the less. Big waste I’m thinking now.

Agreed Bob mostly the only way the horn gets used is largely after the fact when needed. However if you keep the mindset to use your horn in an emergency it may prove useful. For me I'm not sure I have the crisis occasions that I may need a loud one. But thinking this through only needing it once would possibly save your life, nothing you can do will ever replace paying attention. (called Defensive Driving) On the highway these days with so much distracted driving, and I reference all distractions there are hundreds of them. We must be ever alert to what is happening around us. That loud horn may certainly help I'm still on the fence about it though. I once saw a clamp and lever sort of device the you could activate the horn with your thumb, without really changing your grip on the bars. If I can find the old issue of American Iron I will see if they are still in business. Travel safe Fred

As for the hard to reach horn button with short fingers. I found the website lifesaverhorn.com. The reverse switch combo clutch perch ser up it can't be used on my 09' maybe on newer models, I have not even looked at anything newer I know better lol take a look maybe it would work Fred

A few times when i went to hit the brights.....I hit the horn instead..:gah:.

Just heard back from lifesaverhorn.com. it seems they have a unit to fit on 2015 triglides I haven't seen a picture of it yet. The reverse switches I believe are different than the one on the 09' interesting may try to get a few pictures Fred

Still have trouble locating and using the horn button on My Tri-Glide. I also ride a 2012 FLHTP (Police) the horn button is so much more accessible.

I'm a slow learner......I have Tri-Glides since 2011....And i'm still looking for that button...

And retrospect i'm probably better off by paying attention and avoiding an accident than by pissing someone off in a 3 thousand pound vehicle by blowing an obnoxious loud horn And startling them and they hit their accelerator and not their brakes....:xzqxz: .....

This is a lever accessory that attaches to the clutch perch, and is actuated by your thumb in a natural position. From what I have found out it will work on new models but not old /shiney it has the first edition of ugly for a reverse switch. Just curious. Fred

Horns

I just purchased 2 of these horns. 1 for my Trike and 1 for my Truck to replace the Train Horn, compressor and air tank. They sound just as loud and the Train horn but, don't need a compressor & air tank...Will put on as soon as the weather gets a little warmer here in Mid Ohio..

Is this strictly a Harley related product? Has anyone ever tried to look to see if it is adaptable to other Trikes like the Honda/CSC model maybe? Curious as I still am awaiting to take delivery on my 2021 Honda/CSC trike.

Bob, I am finding that hard to believe. That is not how New Jersey drivers drive when they come to Pennsylvania. You don't even have to see the license plate to know a New Jersey or New York driver on the highway here... LOL

Thanks Jack. Going to order me one for my coming 2021 GW and work to get it installed somewhere on the bike ASAP, in a place and way that makes it try and look natural and not tacky. Love the sound. Maybe it'll help with the traffic light sitters and the cell phone texters that would rather sit and block traffic than to drive. And on occasion the 4 wheelers that want to pull out in front of me when I'm approaching them but they claim they didn't see me. LOL. Again thanks. I just missed the info on the site when I was there.

My point exactly Paul. If you want something louder to maybe alert the idiot in front of you that the light turned green 60 seconds ago, then they would work great. Or, if you want something loud of different just for fun then I suppose they would be worth getting. But unlike maybe louder exhaust that is always there, if you let up on your grip slightly to push the horn button on a Harley then you accomplish two things in an emergency IMHO. You may have slightly less handlebar control and you may waste 1 or 1 1/2 seconds of reaction time.

Which in TX, can cause one of several different reactions................ 1) The driver in front gets out and shots you. 2) Backs into you. 3) Is a police officer and issues you a citation for unlawful use of an emergency warning device. All three have happened. The last I was part and partial to. The driver was truly astounded when my partner lit him up after we let him pass us. He went to jail, the car to the pound ............ That after the drug dog alerted to what was under the rear seat. "Ya can't cure stupid !" :clapping:

Way back when [70's] I put a set of Loud Fram Horns on my 71 Beatle, And as i was going over the Berrys Creek Bridge in NJ....I was in the left lane and i was passing a pick-up truck who was in the middle lane he started drifting into my lane....So i hit the horn, And he got startled or pissed off, And tried to run me off the road.....Lucky i had just enough room to avoid him.....The moral is be very careful how and when you use a loud horn..Especially when the guy you are honking at has a bigger vehicle...

This is where I mounted my MotoHorn on my 2014 TriGlide. I removed the stock horn and replaced it with the air compressor and used the stock horn button.

Thanks Paul. Won't work for me as I have RJS air reflectors in place of the stock hard ones.
