is there anywhere in the USA we can hire an RV or some sort of camper that can carry a motorcycle either inside or on a rack on the back???
Elise and i want to return to the USA next year to see more of your country and enjoy more of the amazing hospitality we experienced last time.
we are hoping to hire an RV or camper (whatever you call them, ) we would like to buy a bike (two wheeler, and take that with us so we have a ride when we stop somewhere.
does anyone know who if anyone rents such a vehicle??
any help would be appreciated.
cheers
jeff and elise

First of all, where are you landing, that will determine where to look for a toy hauler/rv to rent.
They are not cheap, but neither are hotels/motels either.
Try to help.
Or, maybe you can rent one from a TT member, that isn't using it.

thanks, must admit i never even thought about towing a trailer, i just figured as we saw so many with bike racks or built in garages when we went to Sturgis, that they would be available to hire.
I will continue to try and find one with bike carrying potential.
a trailer is ok but it limits parking spots, and is another thing to hire, but if thats the only option that will do fine. we dont need a huge RV for the 2 of us.
we dont have any sort of itinerary yet, but we would like to ride more of the Appalachian Mountains, do Sturgis again, and see some of the east coast.
Elise is going for her Motorcycle licence soon so by then she will be close to being unrestricted. she likes the HD Breakout, so we will probably buy one of those.
Shes getting pretty good on the Trike though so maybe by then she may decide on a second trike for us.

If you do NH, give us a shout and we will see what we can do to make your stay wonderful.
Get her a trike, there are so many women in the states riding their own trikes now.
Maybe there is a toy hauler built into a class C motor home, have to look that one up. No need for a trailer, but if each has their own bike/trike, then a trailer maybe needed.
Keep us posted on your plans.

ElMonte RV rents a Toy Hauler Motorhome. They don't give a length but I think it is a 28 footer. Sleeps 4. They say Ford's
V-10. According to their website they have rental sites in the LA , San Fran and San Diego Areas. There is a rental site just a couple miles from my house, I will get there in the next couple of days and see what they offer.

thanks for the answers..i checked out ELmontre rv and as you say, they do seem to have what we are after. i went through the start of the booking process to see what happened but i couldnt get any reference to such a vehicle at the booking stage.
if you do get the opportunity to drop in there that would be HUGELY appreciated

we will only be buying one bike, and it probably wont be a trike as we already have one at home we ride together on. if fact i ride it more than any of the 2 wheelers. its just so much cheaper to buy while in the USA, and we Love the USA and its people

I talked to the local El Monte RV Rental place on Saturday and was told that " they" don't have nor rent the Toy Hauler RV's. The lady said that she did not know too much about them. She said that they only sleep two people even though the web site says four. Probably the best place to find them is in the LA area. She says the best way to contact the dealer is to call the 800 (toll free) number.

Cheers
Mate.. its starting to look like a tricky mission, so ive been looking at buying a cheap 1 1/2 cab pickup and fitting a winch up on the tray to assist loading and unloading a bike. Elise will have her full licence by then, and even though its a lot cheaaper to buy a trike in the USA. its a fair bit more costly to buy, ship, and ADR comply, than a bike/ She loves riding the trike and can Use mine whenever she wants to ride on 3.
