Only been a Triker for 3 months since I bought my Grinnall/BMW R850C (Reg 2000/Converted 2003).
Over the years I have owned a total 0f 20 bikes (mostly BMW), however, after I crashed my BMW K1300GT 2 years ago, my good lady wife informed me that my biking days were over,, Hey Ho! Sadly the lady died in January this year, so after a couple of months I decided it was time to return to the 2 wheeled fold. BUT, I'm 72 now and was a bit worried that I would have a problem picking a bike up if it toppled over - so - the obvious compromise - a Trike - AND I LOVE IT; already done 1500 miles.
Mark, at Grinnall, tells me that mine is totally unique, in that they only ever converted one R850C, all the others are 1200s. I think that what I lose in power I gain in fuel economy and just now I am perfectly content with the performance.
Planning a European tour next month.
