I have read a good many threads on several forums about the fairing mounted rear view mirrors for the 2014 and up Tri- Glide. I am looking at PN 56000076. According to the instructions online that come with these mirrors you have to drill two holes which are basically right on top of each other. The location for the drilling is plainly embossed on the inside of the fairing to eliminate confusion on where to drill. However, some of the threads and replies I have read talk about: "you have to drill the hole at an angel" or "they don't fit flush on the outer after you mount them" some talk about just 1 hole"blah blah blah.

I just installed the CB module and lighted switches, so I have the fairing off now and would like to install the mirrors. The spots on the back of the fairing for the drill locations are clearly marked. The top hole calls for a 13/32's and the bottom hole is 7/32's. As I said, the holes are basically right on top of each other. So, those of you that have made this install on the 14 and up trikes, please give me your opinions and ideas on mounting. It really look like (from the instructions) it is a pretty easy install. Thanks for any help, I am just trying to make sure before I drill any holes. ThumbUp

I've installed these mirrors on my trike twice. First time was on the stock black inner fairing and second time when I installed them on my new color matched fairing. Both times I drilled the holes making sure I drilled straight into the fairing making sure to keep the bit from leaning at all and they fit perfect both times. Easy install.

As stated above its not hard. Whats hard is the thought of the drilling.

Depending on the labor rate at your friendly H-D dealer, you might consider letting them do it. If you screw up, you own it ! If they do it and screw up, they have to make it good, even if it means replacing the inner fairing.
