Help with cb problem

1994 Wing: Handlebar controls has no effect on radio.Can remove the box above the radio and change channels and transmit.Sprayed both tuner and talk button with tuner cleaner (Radio Shack),but did not help.We can not figure out how to get the switch box apart.

Sounds like the main wire looms that plug into the rear of the radio have either come loose or have become dirty.Need to un-plug from rear of radio and clean with a soth tooth brush and a little contact cleaner,die-electric grease on contacts and plug back into radio unit.Check your manual on access to radio.
