I have a HJC modular helmet. One of the few that is large enough for my big head! I have an old neck injury with a bit of arthritis set in and it gets really sore after about an hour of riding. The dealer said they make a "neck cushion ring" that will support the helmet weight on my shoulders instead of my neck. She couldn't find it in the book. Anyone know what this is called or have a link I can look at?

I specifically wear a half helmet because of old spinal problems. Makes a big difference. I just put bandanna over my face in winter and goggles most of the time.

Just as a thought. Are you sure it is your helmet weight or your riding position. In the past after I rode for hours I would get a pain in my neck/shoulder area. The problem I found out my riding position was wrong because of my bars. I was leaning forward/reaching. I replaced the bars with a 2" pull back and the problem went away.

It might even be caused from the wind! As with a windshield positioned too low or one too short. I don't like looking through my windshield, so I have a short adjustable one that if not positioned high enough the wind will press ever so slightly on the upper front portion of the helmet and just enough to cause neck pain after a few hours. Set a little higher and all is good, the wind gets directed over the helmet.

Gogles makes sense to me, but never had much success finding something to fit over my glasses.

You should be able to find them at any place that sells a lot of ATV's, We had them for my Grand kids when they were young to support their helmets, Stops bobble head also.. But i would think they will be a little cumbersome to use ..

Here are a few:
SafeQuip
G-Force
Alpinestar
SixSixOne
SX Lite
Shoei may have a neck support also

Good luck and I hope one of these helps you ride better.

Usually aftermarket bike clothing shops have the over glasses models. I have some light GV+S yellow goggles i wear most of time and Emgo larger "Red Baron" type goggles for heavier rain. Neither one easy to find.

I have a gl1500 with the standard size windshield. No wind turbulence at all. I'm still trying to find a 3/4 helmet that fits. No luck yet. There was a suggestion to change the length of the handle bars. Is that possible on my bike? Any suggestions on who makes a XXXL open faced helmet?

I have a friend who also had a very hard time finding a helmet that fit his XXXL size. I sent him here: Z1R Ace Transit Helmet - Street Motorcycle - Motorcycle Superstore
to look at the Z1R helmet. He bought one and likes it quite well. Says it is the first helmet he's found in many years that when they said XXXL they actually meant it.

Be aware that newer HJCs run small. I had a 5-6 year old HJC that a replaced with the same model this year and the new one is a snug XL where the old one was a comfortable from day one size Large. My friend who bought the Z1R had been using a XXX HJC and it had been too tight for years. Made him miserable and looked goofy setting barely on his noggin. The Z1R is much truer to size.

I know a little about neck problems so once I 'knew' I was going to buy a trike I started looking for the lightest full face helmet I could find. I was lucky when I found a deal on an Akuma Phantom II helmet, one of the lightest full face helmets out there.
Here is a link to some info I found very helpful, both weight & shape, not everyone's XXL is a same shape or measurement.

Back when I wore a helmet I tried the HJC and hated it. Arai makes the most comfortable lid I think you will ever find. Try it.

  ..I didn't like 'em either ,,may be a great helmet but it is very heavy .You need the neck muscles of a football player if you wear it all day,,,God forbid you lean over to far . JUST MY OPINION ....:xzqxz: :xzqxz:
