Hannigan Rotor Upgrade

And as Leo says, there new one can be left un-locked as well I guess

Jeff, I am not satisfied with the Hannigan fix. They did not change my bad lock cylinder, just put a cap. I am suffering with this lock as I try to get home. Still have 600 miles to go. :-(

Adam, I called about 3 or 4 weeks ago about seeing if Hannigan might be able to Attend (one) day at the 2013 International Rally in IL (in Aug) talked to a robot and left message and nothing ever happened. ThumbUp

Now in the old days. one of you guys would say I will get back to you or just say NO we can't , so I gave up , there will be a bunch of Hannigan owners there as well from what I hear.. I told the committee that I would Call you guys up and let them know. they keep asking but I have to tell them I still have not heard back yet. . but we do have plenty of time LOL

There is a couple hundred folks that would LOVE to met the wonderful folks that make this awesome product the your company makes !!

Most of us have had to go through vendors and have never had the chance
to even see the company/people at all.

This is why I brought up the Robot thing.

Kind of like I emailed Jim G today about a lock and BOOM I got a message right back.. and that's not Jim LOL he's is always so darn busy

Umm maybe email? who should I email about this matter?

I will get off my soap box now

Thanks,
Jeff

You DEFINITELY had karma on your side yesterday. Typically that is the least preferable method of getting a hold of the Gooch.

Your message about the Rally was received and did get forwarded to the "appropriate person". That individual obviously dropped the ball. However, I can now say with 99.9% confidence that HMS will be unable to attend due to prior commitments upon their substance. Apologies.

We could send one of our Robots but they are too busy answering the phones and chatting on the inter-webz :D

You know I hate robots so that won't work :wave4:
Anyways, thanks for the FAST HUMAN TOUCH REPLY! :10:
I will let the Committee know now.
Have a great rest of the week Sir.

Jeff

Thanks much! Same to you as always. ThumbUp

I must exit now to power down for an upgrade and a re-boot...
ADAM Out

Jeff, here's that picture you asked for. These are on Carbon Ones bike and I know for certain they will work on ours too.

Speaking of Larry, he's coming home from the hospital this afternoon.

Thanks JAY! AWESOME ABOUT LARRY! SUPER...pepper
yeah I might have to do something like that as well
the Hannigan Locking need to be a better type.
not sure what yet .

maybe one day they will come up with a better locking system
for there trunks

I do have a call into Jim G about the lock and he Will let me know when
there new shipment comes in. maybe they already have better key lock now?

Jeff, Remember our lock faces upward. We need a lock that is water resistent. If water gets in there, it will corrode the locking mechanism. That's why Jim tried the cap.

When I got home, I studied the lock situation more carefully. The lock cylinder was installed upside down. It seemed to work for the Hannigan folks, but it was not reliable. By the way, it was not Jim Gooch who installed the cap. It was another employee. Returned the lock cylinder to its original orientation, and it worked much better. Fortunately, I was able to open the trunk, after much effort, to make this change. Due to the corrosion issue and the forcing of the key to open the trunk, I will be asking Jim for a new trunk lock.

UPS just delivered the replacement cam lock for our trunk. Thanks Hannigan!

I was so disgusted with the Hannigan setup that I put on a bigger master cylinder and went to Honda CRX calipers and rotors. Stops on a dime!

My first pads and rotors didn't even make 1000 miles. I will admit they did send me replacement rotors but I went with Ducati pads instead. Went to the Honda setup the next spring...
