Went to start the 2011 trike yesterday.put the sw in ignition, the kill sw on and pressed the start. The engine just started clicking and the dash directional lites started blinking.it did this for 3 trys before it finally started. No problems the rest of the day.Wondering if it's just the fob battery or something else in the security system.

Change the fob battery, ''First'', More than likely that's the problem,.
If the clicking continues, That usually indicates a weak/bad battery.

A loose battery terminal could also cause this. There are quite a few "possibles", but like I was taught "KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid" - but then again, I'm not always the brightest bulb on the lamp, so maybe that was just for me?

you got to change those things every once in awhile

I have noted that the key fob battery will go dead quicker when the key fob remains with the bike while unattended. If you park your bike in a garage with the key fob in the tourpak like I do, it is constantly sending a signal to the security system. just a thought.

So,... with that thought in mind, do I have to get the bats. from HD or can I get them at like K-Mart??

Gotta get it done........ Thank's.

I get mine at Kmart or Walmart or any place that has them, I always carried a spare with me in case something would happen on the road.

Had this happen also. Bought extra batterys and keep them in the tour pack. Dont want to get stuck out in the sticks.

AND what happens when you loose or break you fob out in the sticks???

PROGRAM YOUR PERSONAL CODE INTO THE IGNITION!!!!!! Easy procedure and can save a huge towing bill and a lot of embarrassment.

Example, I keep my keys on a hook in the house, about 6' from the bike in the garage. IT WILL START if I forget the keys and drive away. When I turn it off at McDonald's for lunch, I'm stuck. Extra batteries won't help. The second time I had to call wife to bring me the keys I learned my lesson!

Good Luck.

Or right it down on the card they give you in the manual with how to start your bike with out your FOB or yes you will be calling the Wife!!

This makes four times you guys have helped me out!!! Ran in to the same problem, changed battery in the key fob and it was a quick fix. Wish I had it before the new battery was bought and put in! It was time for a new one anyway! Thanks again my friends!!! Viper!! Next is a reverse gear in the bike to get away from the starter! Anyone want to do it?
