There are 6 of those Chromed plastic caps (snap caps) on my trike that I usually end up regluing the snap caps back in place with silicone as they "fall off" … I am thinking I might just get some button headed socket screws in stainless steel to replace them with. Chuck the screws in a drill to polish the heads, no more gluing or snapping snap caps on & off, or rather "off & on" I guess? I'm thinking a 6mm. Maybe just some Philips head screws?

This may help. I used them for my TriGlide. Especially for the screws that strip out on the Derby cover.

The belt guard on my Slingshot was a black plastic and i painted it red to match the red body....And so i also painted the heads of the screws which were black red to match...

Got 20

They come today, 20 of them, M6-1.0X25mm Button Headed Socket Screws in steel. The head looks like it has a washer, but that could be easily reduced in the drill press. They'll look great polished up too I think. 25 mm thread is pretty near an inch at 0.98425", so enough to trim for other uses too. I ordered these back when I made this thread. Head is 4.5mm tall, has a 4mm hex. Since ordering I realized I have a few other places they'll come in handy for.
