Greetings from south of San Antonio

Currently on 2 wheels with no plans to stop. However, we are thinking of adding a trike to the stable. Thinking for long trips it would be great. Stability and trailer towing are the plusses. Thinking of a couple long runs in the future. Possibly from Texas to Alaska via Ohio. Then back to Texas via California. Looking to get information on brands and things to avoid or get.
Since we are Texas I have looked at Motor Trike. I like the IRS with the air shocks. And the weight bearing boards look good.

However we are open to suggestions.

Our first trike ride was on a 2007-2008 California Side Car. It was an eye opener. Very comfortable and handled well. The owner was able to outrun me on the Three Sisters up in Leakey, Texas. I was two up on our 1986 Yamaha and would have needed to start scraping to keep up. The only fault I found was a wobble in the front when travelling from idle up to about 5-8mph. Cannot say about rake or tire situation. It had lots of tread and seemed smooth.
Looking forward to input.
Welcome from Killeen! Hope you can make it to our annual TrikeTalk Forum which will be in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, in June. More info on the Rally thread, farther down among the threads. We're about three+ hours from you, straight up 35, take a left at Temple. Let us know if you get up this way and we'll swap tales of our GW 1800 CSC!

Greetings back at ya from coastal N.J. My son, a 2 wheel H-D guy (FXDWG), spent several years in Houston, so he's more familiar with your part of the world than I.
We recently added a MT Phoenix IRS to our 1500 and are well pleased so far. It's tough to recommend a specific brand of kit as everyone thinks theirs is the best. Most important to me is the quality of the install and how close the dealer is, should service or adjustments be required.
Regardless of which kit you go with, you'll enjoy it. Glad you found us at TT, you'll find a lot of info here as well as some darn nice folks. Welcome, again - post often, have fun, ride safe.

Welcome from the U P of Michigan. I am a retired EMT and love trike talk. The people here are very nice and no matter where you travel you will find friends.

Welcome, welcome Lonestarmedic!! You have come to the right place to find out a LOT of information.

If you want an eye-full of trikes come to the Texas Trike Reunion at Kerrville, TX...April 4-6. It's not very far from you. We attended for the first time last year and had a great time talking with everyone about their trikes, and of course, enjoyed riding the area. You would get a first-hand look at a bunch of different trike kits and ideas. Everyone we met was eager to answer all questions we had about their particular trike. We had just purchased one trike a couple of months prior to the event and after speaking to so many people and seeing their trikes it helped us decide on the 2nd trike we bought... yep, we both drive a trike now! Miss the 2-wheelers but LOVE these trikes!

Welcome to Trike Talk from Southeast Missouri. I have been in your area several time but not on the trike. Hope to make it back down there someday hopefully on the trike.

Welcome from another South of San Antonio resident, I'm in Elmendorf Texas. I'm new to the Forum and trikes are new to me also. I'm in the process of building a VW/Harley trike. Like you, I have a billion and five questions. I've got 75% of the trike in a pile of pieces on the garage floor, and I'm running around it in a circle wondering where to begin. I guess I should start at the transaxle. I just bought new mounts and a disc brake set up.
Anywho, a couple of months late but welcome.
