Got my trike!!!

Finally got my trike. I have a 2005 Goldwing 1800 with a CSC trike kit. I've ridden it almost everyday since we picked it up and have ventured a little farther and faster each time. It is a big machine (compared to the Suzuki Boulevard I used to ride) but it rides so smooth. I am trying to use all of the suggestions I've found on this website, but would love if anyone has more.

One question, do the convex mirrors help? I saw that one person suggested them so that you can see the back of the trike. I am very concerned that I will forget how "wide" I am.

Will try to post a pix soon. :)

Congratulations!!!! You sound like you are doing all the right things to get used to the trike and that means you will continue to enjoy and have fun with it!

The width of the fenders are a big concern! However, stay very conscious of them any time you are coming into the garage, up to a gas pump area, or even parking near a curb or in a parking garage. You will be surprised at how quickly that awareness becomes second nature and you will be automatically allowing the space needed for the trike.

Be patient. Keep riding and working up in skills. After about 500 miles you will feel better.

I like the add-on Convex Mirrors....I run them on the Trikes "and" all of my 2-wheelers also. They get rid of the Blind Spot....:wtg:

Welcome SJS from weather-confused Los Angeles! Covex add-on mirrors are a must for 2-w or 3! A neat way to learn to stay in the middle of the lane is to ensure that, everytime you look into the mirrors, the lane stripes are running roughly in the middle of the mirror you glance at. In no time, it'll become 2nd nature. There may be a few 'Oh s!@#' moments, but that's natural. Keep burning up those miles. And when you can, take a course. Always helps.
