Good day everyone. My name is Ken and I live in Indianapolis. I recently bought a 2017 Freewheeler. I have several other bikes and bought this one so my SO and and I can take some nice day trips.

I have been riding for over 50 years. My SO is recently retired. A couple of years ago, her brain started telling her to lean the opposite way that I do. It was making riding somewhat difficult on a 950 pound two wheeler. I decided to give her a shot of riding with me on a Trike.

This is going to put us back on the road. I kept my other machines for me. LOL. I really like this machine and am keeping it pretty much stock. I did add a little windshield and an another brake light. Can't have enough light. It is amazing how well it rides and handles. I see a lot of benefits in three wheels at near 70 years old.

My legs just aren't as good as they were some years ago. At any rate, this forum is full of great information. I have already downloaded service manuals for it and have changed every fluid it has. Sorry for the long post. Ken

Thinking about a trike too

Hi Ken, I am a long time Indy resident who recently moved to Bloomington. I've also been riding 2 wheels nearly 50 years. I turn 65 later this year and have been considering a trike. I want something that is long distance comfortable so I've been looking at Gold Wing conversions. I'd be interested to know how you chose your trike and if you ever road one before buying the Freewheeler.

Thanks!

Dixter

Dixter, I had never ridden one before. My neighbor sold this to me. She had bought it new and only rode it 330 miles. It had some damage from rodents and all the chrome was cruddy looking. I put new fluids in every hole and installed a new battery. I drained the gas tank and put in fresh fuel. About fifteen hours of cleaning and repairing the mouse damage, it runs and looks like new. I doubt you could go wrong with a GoldWing conversion. The Wing is probably the most stable foundation for anything. I have to say that the Freewheeler is a fun little machine. It is going to add years to my motorcycling career.

Welcome Ken!

I looked at the Freewheelers and would love to have a hot rodded one to run around close to home on . Haven’t seen one yet but I’m sure they’re out there. Welcome , enjoy the ride!!
