Hi All,...
Well I made it to Larry's Sports Center in PA., for a tune on the Triglide.
It's a 2012 with a stock 120R motor. Shanon spent over 8 hrs. on Thursday and a couple more on Friday, dyno tunin and test ridin it.
He dumped the map the other dealer had put in for break-in and started from scratch. He felt it was better than tryin to build off of their map. I agreed and it was fine with me!!
He had trouble with kock/ping on the high rpm end after gettin it hot. We could not hear it, but it was showing on the dyno program. So he took 1 deg. of timing out, it got better. (less knock). He took another degree out, all is good.!!
We had a talk before he started about numbers.
He has done an Ultra 120R but not a Trike with that motor. Like Msocko and FLHT said on here, you will not get high numbers on the Trike. (Parasitic power loss, and weight).
I told him that I wanted a smooth running Trike and don't shoot for high nimbers only. He and Wes (the dealer owner) agreed.
I also got a dip (going lean) at about 3500 rpm. in the AFR and return to normal about 4000 RPM. He couldn't get it out and does not know what it is?
AS he tried to richen it up in that area, he would loose too much power. But it's still in the acceptable range, and left it that way.
There is no way I can type all that was done and said for almost 10 hours of dyno, test and tune. But I am very happy with the way it runs!!
Msocko, I ran it hard up and down Denton Hill (summit) right there on Rt.6 by Larry's. It pulled nice and strong in 6th, and a blast in 5th. 100mph.
on Rt.6 and didn't get caught. I think you know the hill? Not so good with the truck and trailer.........
Oh yeah, the numbers, 113 tq. 113 h.p.. It's a hand full on a Trike full bore!!
I have complete faith in Wes and Shanon, and if anyone gets higher numbers with a 120R stock crate motor on a Trike, mine is broke. I'm talkin 5 more on tq and hp.
Later, eighty80 and havin fun!!
