Drive shaft

Hi. FYI I had a 2013 wing with 45000 on Roadsmith conversion. Had a high speed vibration at over 60 mph. Turned out to be a bad universial joint. The needle bearings were all gone in one of the caps. This was on end closest to rearend, very lucky didn’t come unglued. They don’t have grease zurks on u joints, I put them on when I had the shaft repaired. Just bought new Roadsmith on new 2017 1800, no zurks either. High speed vibration-check u joints, had 1/4 play in joint. Thanks

Had similar problem on my drive line, U joints were in really bad shape even though I kept them greased. Also a differential oil weep on the left side wheel seal. Think the guy who changed the differential oil did not follow my instructions to fill it only where he could touch the oil with his finger, and over filled causing pressure and the weep.

My 2010 wing (triked out two seasons ago) DOES have grease (2) zirks.. I'm leaving for a five day trip tomorrow, so I did crawl under the trike (yes i had to use jacks to lift up bike) and I shot a wad of grease onto the shaft...

Safe travel, let us know how it goes.

Home Safe/Sound w/o any problems :clapping:

Edit: Except riding with a Harl** he had to stop every 50 miles to take a break :mad: just when I was getting into the *grove* he had to stop again... all he did was to complain about the "long ride" he had taken :cool: I have to laugh, cause I returned home, all nice and relaxed, and he went straight to bed, cause he claimed it was the hardest/longest ride he ever took...(his last words were "never again") Thank you Honda for making a nice touring machine! This trip was from Springfield Massachusetts - Rockport Maine approx five hours ride..Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

There actually more to the story::: I couldn't get him up, to get going in the morning before 10:00

Complained about everything, and everybody's service

Claimed he was going to report everyone that was not to his liking to management

Speeding constantly (I has actually wished that he's get a speeding ticket)

Drinking while riding

on & on ect.ect.( I was so embarrassed in front of people all the time)

Never again!!!
