Disc Brake Conversion

I would get ahold of Motor Trike. They can give you a complete list of parts. But from what I have heard, unless you have some problem with the drum brakes it is quite expensive just to say you have disc brakes...... Just sayin' !

I have and still am considering the swap to disk on my Motortrike kit.

Here is a link from a Ford Ranger Forum with a write up of how this member did a swap on his truck. How to: Rear disc brake conversion for stock Ranger rear end - Ford Ranger Forum

The procedure would be very similiar for the trike. You will need to buy a Ford Mustang GT ( not Cobra the pistons they are too big for the HD rear brake master cylinder) rear disk brake calipers, backing plates, anti moan brackets and dust shields assemblies.

You will have to fabricate your brake lines from the Split T mounted on the MT rear end to the disk calipers

Getting the drum backing plate off will require it being cut off. The axles are C clip assemblies, unless you want to remove the rear end from under the body breaking apart the rear end to do the swap.
