in the surrounding Daytona counties. How many people per household is anybody's guess. Waves as much as 11 feet high in some places. Have not heard any reports of any deaths in Florida.

Last night @ 1 AM the weather was reporting that the hurricane was turning east and going out to sea and they predicted it would actually head back south. So I get up this morning and the darned thing is still going up the east coast. Ya never know.

It has stopped raining and winds are minimal for the time being in Ocala.

One death reported in St. Lucie County. A woman had a heart attack during the storm and first responders were unable to respond due to the weather. The fire department called it a storm related death, but it's up to the medical examiner to make the final call.

I hope that everyone in the affected areas is safe. This could have been a lot worse for Florida than it turned out to be, and I hope that this doesn't make folks too complacent when the next one comes.

It's good to hear that most people are making it through Matthew with very little property damage. I'm sure it will take a while to get everything cleaned up and back to normal. Prayers are for you to get your lives back on track and getting back out riding.

Hope all ends well for everyone, after this thing blows by...

Still lots of wind in The Villages, but little damage. Power out only for a few seconds so far. I death reported in Florida. Daytona still getting wind but worst is over for many of us

Brother lives in the Villages near Orlando. He said it was "A little windy with about 1.25" of rain" this morning.
