CV carb problem

The CV carb on my EVO leaks gas from the air cleaner while running down the road. Doesn't seem to leak at idle and it doesn't do it all the time, but more than not. This carb doesn't have the overflow tube/bowl on it. I checked to be sure the accelerator pump is squirting directly in to the carb. Any ideas?

Maybe your float level is off or the float is hanging up. I wouldn't ride it until it's fixed. I had a friend who's bike burnt up from a situation just like yours.

Float has been checked and set. Going to try another carb. today. Sure miss the old Linkerds. (sp?) Thanks and I'll let you know how it turns out.

put on a different carb. same problem only worse. Going to try smaller main jet. Last two carbs were fine when taken off there original motor. Carb that came with basket case was supposed to be the reason the owner started taking it (the bike) apart. I have never talked to the original owner, can't find him, wish I could I would like to know the bikes history. Any one know Cecil D Jedicke III ?
