Cruise Control Issue

There is a servo-motor located on the upper right of the motor, behind the a/c compressor. Mine went out, it is not a Ford part, so it had to come from Texas. It is an expensive, $430, part but under warranty. Turns out the O ring on the input cable split, allowing the motor to get wet and short out. The servo does not ship with an O ring, so if you replace one either order an O ring at the order time or be prepared to hit the parts store for a replacement.

Just my luck, the servo that TMS shipped, was defective! On the bright side the folks here at Cherokee, took the Stallion off the floor, tested the servo, and put it in my Stallion! That's awesome customer service I didn't even buy my ride here.

Big Dog; I am sure that U will let Jeff KNOW about the defective part!!!!!! Where is the dealer located that took care of YOU Excellent service They need several ATTA BOYS....Charlie D. pepper

Charlie, the dealer was Cherokee Trikes, in Greer, S.C.. It is a great facilitie, they sell Indians Victorys, Stallions, then CSC, Roadsmith, Lehman, and Motortrike kits. While I was there, Danny sold a Roadsmith, a new Harley-trike off the floor, and pre-sold two Indians. Not a bad week and he still had Friday and Saturday. Next weekend they have the Indian Tour there for Saturday and Sunday. If your in the Greenville area stop in and say hi :wave4:

Big Dog, not sure what year your Stallion is but for the 2008s that servo motor is a Ford part and uses the same diagnostics as the speed control servo on my 1997 Ford Ranger. I don't expect them to have been different parts but the replacement unit sent to me from TBMS was in its original Ford parts box.

Turns out that the servo motor on my wife's 2008 froze up solid: diagnostics would state that the unit was OK but the cruise control wouild not engage. Will have to look to see if the replacement unit has an O-ring associated with it or not. BTW: rig had ~ 6900 miles on it at time of cruise control failure & had only been in one particularly bad stretch of bad weather up to that time (bringing it home from Sturgis after purchase in 2009).

Richard, told me that the servo was TMS specific part. It would be really interesting if it was a Ford part, since I sat in Greer for two days waiting on it!:gah:

Markie, You got a part number on that box?

Wish I did, Big Dog. That box was used to return the defective unit back to TBMS for credit late last year. I do recall that it had a Ford part number on it, though (something beginning F87Z: let me see if I have the shipping invoice on my workbench at home)

That would be great if can find it, Makie! I am not looking to bust TMS chops, just confirm that the part can be bought locally if need be.

Had mine replaced and it is a Ford Part! Mine went out with less than 1400 miles on the clock.

Do you have the Ford part number? I would like to call Richard and educate him as to his ignorance about the product he is the "voice" for! :xzqxz:

Sorry...no part number. Dennis at TBMS had it changed for me at the factory. You may want to speak to him though.

Hope this helps

Most parts associated with the drivetrain in the Stallion is equivalent to a 2007 Ford Ranger 2.3L (2WD). You should be able to call your local Ford Dealer and order this part through them.
