Crappy fender protectors

The 08 GW CSC trike I just bought has a lot of wear on the 3m fender protectors and I need to know how to get them off so I can put on new or go to something better. I am thinking a hair dryer will do the job but before I waste my time I thought I would get some advice. If you have ever removed these or know how give me a shout. Would also like opinions on what to replace these with. Thanks to all responders!

Perhaps you might want to track down a CSC installer in your area and check in with them, or go to the CSC website and send them an email outlining your problem.

I'm sure you can use a hair dryer to help remove the 3M protection on there now, but without a strategy as to what you're going to replace it with, you could end up with plenty of rock chips if you drove it without any protection. CSC had nice black (leatherette type material) fender protectors with their CSC lettering embroidered on them that look quite nice.

Good luck with your project.

opinions are like a-holes and everybody has one and here is mine. I think the leather or vinyl ones are ugly. in Florida we have a lot of humidity and if you are not watching out they will get moldy. they trap water inside them after a drive in the rain and have to be instantly removed. we need a manufacturer that will make some out of chrome or stainless for the different trike conversion makers.

I ended up having them removed by a small company here in town that does a lot of graphics work. They replaced with black 3m with a design on them. Really look good! Next I am taking off the aqua shields and having them sprayed with black bed liner since they are also chipped in several places. They have a smooth liner spray that should look ok and is good protection against chips. My trike is pearl white so the black should really set it off.

Harry2u, send some pics when yer done. Looking for options also.:wave4:

Here are a few pics of the trike with new fender shields and the aqua shields recovered in bedliner spray. Not really thrilled with the outcome of the aqua shields. They told me it would be smooth as glass. NOT! In fact I almost puked when I first saw them. He did a real slop job on them. I had the guy put a light texture on them to hide a lot of the flaws. They look ok but still wish I had someone else do them. He was 6'6" and 350lbs or I would have bitch slapped him! LOL! Well crap! The pics won't load. First time I have tried to attach a pic so must be doing something wrong. If someone really wants to see them send me a message with your email.
