Cobra trike tire

I have around 10,000 miles on the front tire of my 2017 wing. It currently seems to have a lot of tread but it’s flat in front. Rides fine. When I bought this tire there weren’t any Cobra trike tires available so I put a regular Cobra tire on it. Does the fact that it’s shaped flat mean that I need to replace it? And, does anyone know if there are any Cobra trike tires available and where?

All trike tires will eventually flatten out in their profile because you are only travelling on the center part of tire. One thing that will happen when it flattens out though is that more rubber will be contacting the pavement and it will progressively get harder to turn. So considering replacing probably isn't a bad idea.

The important thing to check is how deep the tread is in the center and that will determine if it's time to replace the tire. A penny is a great tool to use to check. Upside down, in the groove. If tread no longer covers Lincolns head, replace.

Now since you asked about availability of Avon Cobra Chrome Trike tires, I actually reached out to Don Argento who is a U.S. sales manager for Goodyear and Avon. Here was his reply.

Very sorry for the delay. We currently have fresh stock in Europe that will be on containers heading to the US this month. They should be available by mid-to-late September.

We will see though as I got a similar response last year and was told containers were supposed to be arriving in Oct 2023 and that didn't happen.
