nowhere, usa
I headed over to the local auto parts store and picked up some of that flexible chrome that's usually used for door guards.

Two different sizes. Some went on the Whale Tail and the rest of the thick stuff I ran along the bottom of the back by the mufflers.

The thin stuff I used to go around the taillight lenses for a little added touch.

All of this cost less that $25.00 and was very easy to install. I just had to use denatured alcohol to get the paint clean enough for the double-sided tape to hold securely.

Thanks! I was hoping that it didn't look like I got too carried away with it.
These are a couple of close-up shots of the upper and lower taillights.

What did you use for the smal lights above the mufflers? Are they LEDs? Will you post a cloeup picture of the small lights. Thanks, that looks good!
I believe there is never enough lights on the rear of a trike so people can see you.

That's an idea I had not thought of. I appreciate you giving me a little food for thought. Thanks!
I see some folks use that chrome stripping at the seam where the running boards meet the rear fenders.

Looks really good. I may try it. Lon.

If you have a garage where you feel comfortable being in while wearing a short sleeve shirt that would be fine. The chrome strips need to be flexible while attaching.

Thanks for that idea, Harry. I just might have to do that, too. Although the warm day might be a while in coming......
I like the chrome strip around the trunk. Did you "mold" it around the corners, or was it cut and paste? Close up picture if you can.
Do you think a hair dryer would help to "mold" the plastic better if it is cool in the garage or cellar?
Great job!

For the tight turns ((90 degrees or tighter)) I used a hair dryer to soften the chrome a little. I'll take some close up shots of some things I did yesterday so you can see and post them later.

Using the hair dryer REALLY helps. Also, you want to pre-wipe the area with denatured alcohol. That helps to get any dirt off of the are. It also removes any wax buildup that may cause the tape to let go.

Make SURE you get the strips that have the 3M red backed tape on them.

Thanks.
That's the only tape I use and use alcohol to boot. Had soem Elks medalions on with the foam tape (way the came) and they "wore" out, so I use the 3M red tape and they have held for a long time.
Thanks for posting.
Question: Do you have the trunk open switch on your Goldwing display, so it will tell you if the trunk is open? If you do, can you take a picture on how Hannigan fixed the switch to the latch. I have been trying to get a picture for a long time, but noone has come back when I have asked. I wrote Hannigan and they said my trike was the older model so the switch was never put on.

But, I think the newer models have the switch "hooked" in.
I have the info on how to wire it to the trike, but need a picture on the switch mounting to the latch. I also have the switch.
Thanks.

Rosy, three weeks ago I put side mouldings on my truck doors. My garage was about 40 degrees (outside 9), I used a heat gun (harbor freight has em for 12 bucks). I left the moulding in the house until I needed them-and warmed each door panel with heat gun- and installed the mouldings, they went on like butta!

The mouldings that Mr. Brogans used are super flexible, should not be a reason to mold it if it is warmed to 60-70 degrees.
