Chat Room

Nice day today at The Villages. Went golfing with a forever Friend who lives at The Villages.
Snowbirds trikers are still around, so we may get together and do more Florida exploring!
If you are a Floridian wanting to ride, set a greet and meet in your area and we may show up.
All you have to do is do a place, time, and date and show them the sights in your area.
Tomg, Bruce, Red, and others in the area have done it. It is great for us rookies to see your State! Lots of beautiful sights, places to visit, and new friends to be with.
See you soon!

Big Dog, not to worry, if this last snow didn't collapsed the roof, I have a friend going over to remove the snow from the farmer's porch this week.
He is as busy as a one armed paper hanger, with all the roofs he is doing.
Hope all TT Land is doing great! Northeast, stiff upper lip, spring is coming!
Leo..Warren..how did you guys make out this last go round with snow? 2-3" or more?

Rosy

Good morning folks! We got no more than an inch of snow last night. It is very windy, so some neighbors have nothing to shovel. Unfortunately, our clean driveway now has some small drifts. Not going to do anything while the wind chill is so low. Plumber is supposed to come this morning to put a camera in our sewer line. Anxious to see what's down there. Hopefully it's okay. Have a great day! Stay warm!

Leo, you may see Andrew's gator pass by as the camera does its work! LOL
It is going to be fun watching. I remember years ago they did that inside the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

Afternoon all. Our cat, Harley, had to be put to sleep yesterday. She was 17 1/2 yrs old. Kidneys completely failed and plenty of other stuff. She used to go for short rides on my Harley when she was younger. She was also the one who would alert Dianne when I came home. As soon as she heard the bike, she would run to the window. If she heard a Harley on TV, she would run and watch whatever was on. Dianne won't have anybody during the week to keep her company while I travel now. Needless to say, she's not doing great. But its been expected for awhile.

Know what you are speaking about. We had to put several kitties down and it is almost like loosing a member of the family.
Tell Di, we know what she is going through. We no longer have pets, we travel too long.
Leo, did you see anything interesting in the sewer? Like Bozo's super Gator? LOL

Andrew & Dianne -

We are so sorry to hear about Harley - we lost our beautiful black cat, "Oboe", way before his time, a while ago and we still miss him (his picture is in our "album"). After a time, we went to the shelter to "rescue" another kitty and came home with two. We now have 4.

I know, it sounds nuts to have 4 cats, but most of the time you never even know they're around as they are usually off someplace enjoying a "catnap". They are all indoor cats and actually run the other way when a door to the outside is opened.

When your "ready", please consider a trip to the shelter to find 1 or more kittys that need a good home.

Had our sewer line inspected today. It looks tired, and runs under our paver driveway. Chose to get trenchless replacement. Don't ask the price. :AGGHH: I'm still going to Florida. :Trike1:

Good morning folks! Cold today with forecast of snow mainly to south of us this time. Lucky, our sewer line is clear now, but we are scheduled to get it replaced mid-April. Even though replacement is trenchless, need to salvage pavers close to house at point of excavation. Impossible to do this in single digit weather. Good spring project...

Happy Monday, great day in Sarasota! Great to be out of the northeast, sorry TT friends. Turned down freight to Roanoke,Va., and Berlin,Ct.. I'm sticking to home for awhile. Maybe get up to the Villages tomorrow??

Evening all. 13'F earlier and got a nice little ride in. Needed to run some errands. Then went for a ride along the North shore of LI for a little.
Needless to say, a flight to Durham, NC in the morning had to be changed due to the next storm coming tonight.

Luckily, so far, no ICE here. We're surrounded by it and power outages right now though....had rain instead of the surrounding Counties ice and snow, but Temps are in lower twenties (21 right now), and heading for the teens. Our Rain may get "crunchy" before daybreak......come on SPRING...but right now though, Good Tuesday Morning TRIKE TALK .....ThumbUp

Skuuter, some counties are saying they won't see pavement for quite a while. They can't get the plows out because of the ice.
To make it worse, power is out, so if you don't have backup heat, you could be in trouble!
Good luck Southern TT members!

VisitIthica.com told its readers that it surrenders due to ridiculously stupid winter. Recommended folks visit Key West and come back when things thaw out. I'm ready!

The Snowbird Rally friends are still getting together.
Howie, Janice, and Rosy had a great lunch and very pleasant time together at The Villages.
Sorry Big Dog couldn't make, but he was there in spirit.
No other trikers from The Villages were there for the impromptu meeting as we kept looking to see if anyone would show.
We made tentative plans for future meetings, from Lake George to Maggie Valley.
Hope all is well with fellow trikers in the "ice zone".

Hope all is well in MS...Don't work to hard!

Add some snow to the ice and it's easy to drive on (I even ride my Mountain Bike on it...:D).....pure ice, impossible..."Zero Traction"....some roads here are just smooth sheets of ice...not good...hopefully most got a dusting of snow last night to provide some grip. In the Northern States the frozen ground temps help even the ice to have a grainy texture, down here we get a "freshly waxed show car hood" watery, because of warmer ground temps, completely slick, smooth road ice. I've driven in the Northeast, Michigan, Minnesota, etc., etc. areas fairly easily on ice and snow, even when it was new to me. Down here, even after a lifetime, ice generally means walking..."Most" northern transplant citizens here are the ones that are most amazed They can't drive on it.........and, Good Wednesday Morning TRIKE TALK .....ThumbUp
