Oh..Oh..kids around here offer to shovel, not that they would do a good job, but they still come around once in a while.
Story:
When I was a kid, the town of Dover would hire kids to shovel between 3 to 9PM, to do the downtown sidewalks.
They can't do that any more, liability insurance, Oh well, those were the days. Now, the sidewalks in Dover are a mess, and you take your life in your hands if you walk on them.
BUT, not as bad as the days they rolled the streets with oxen and huge rollers. I have seen pictures of Dover back then, when the snow was packed so high on the street, they would cut steps down to the sidewalk. It was an amazing picture!
Leo, ask Jeannette if it is OK to stay in Florida till the snow melts? I really don't want to know what she says, but knowing your sweetheart, she would say that's fine dear! LOL
TT Land have a great day. Off to get pellets for the stove.

All refreshed... Heading for Savannah tomorrow. Think Jeannette needs help with the shoveling. ;)

I don't know what your "Savannah Schedule" is, but if you have time, check out "Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room". Great southern cooking, but they have strange hours and are only open (I think), Mon thru Fri. http://mrswilkes.com/.

Regardless, we're glad you're haveing a great trip - be safe... ThumbUp

Can she hire some school boys to shovel the drive? Or do you know a person who does plowing?
Jeannette should have gone to visit her sister while you were gone, NAH, way too much snow in Northern NH! LOL
While I worked out of country, Janice ran the snowblower to clear the drive. Her and my young son did the drive, but, that was a very long time ago!
Leo, ride safe and enjoy the sun while you can, because winter is still here in the North East!

Rosy

Rosy, Jeannette tells me the driveway has melted! :pepper: Jeannette's sister is at Lakeland, FL, and I visited her. At Savannah, GA tonight. Will be back home in three more days. Expecting cold to hit anytime.

School boys to shovel a driveway? What decade are you living in? They went the way of Unicorns. Actually, you could spot a Unicorn easier that a kid shoveling.
And by an amazing coincidence, Leo should be back just after the snow is gone.

Hooray! :pepper:

Thanks for this tip Warren. It won't be right since I'm traveling alone now. Anxious to get home.

Sunny, but 45 deg and breezy here at the Shore today.

Good luck getting thru that band of bum weather to your north. Past it, Raleigh on up to Richmond, looks good...

Evening all. Got a flat tire on truck yesterday. Luckily just a couple blocks from home. Was on way to pick up wife. Limped home and switched to trike. So Dianne ended up with a first day of spring ride. Haven't had to change a flat in literally decades. Took a while to figure out getting spare from bottom of truck.
At least I get a nice ride to NJ in morning. Ancient machine from another manufacturer. Need to figure it out and calibrate it.

Overnighting at Kenly, NC. Had a little misting this morning, but later blue sky, cool and dry. Had a pleasant ride today. Heading for Winchester, VA tomorrow.

Girl I dated way back. Used to leave work 8am Fri after 3rd shift. Ride down to Winchester for weekend. Get back for work Sun at midnight. She was completely insane. Trust me on this. I told Dianne I married her because she was less insane than most I dated ( by a very :qpnmt: small margin).

Nothing new skuuter, it happens here in NH. Workdays are great, weekends, go out to lunch!
Once in a while you get the whole weekend looking good! Enjoy them while you can.

Good day folks! Only 270 miles left to home, 4.25 hours... Too cold to try it today. Should be a piece of cake tomorrow. Rain arrives on Thursday.

Don't forget to put on your heated gear like Janice does! LOL
I must admit, heated gear is great when you are riding in cold weather.
Leo, be safe and take breaks to get warm, don't get hypothermia. I did once and dumped my 450 with Janice on the back, coming back from Canada. We were going at a very slow speed, but it was scary non the less.
Be safe.

Rosy

No heated gear... I'm old school. ;) I wear lots of layers and drive short days. If I dump my trike, that would be quite a trick. :D Even though I have an auxiliary fuel tank, I try to run off the main tank to give me a reason for frequent fuel/rest/stretch stops. This gets the blood moving. My motel room today has a window facing west, and I'm sitting in front of it like a lizard sunning myself. Will be great to be back home tomorrow. ThumbUp

Well, I really don't think that's old school because lots of riders dress like that. I was one till I got older, so I needed the closet on my back to keep warm! LOL
Just like golf, you are blessed when new technology makes the game better, easier, more fun, or warmer.
If it's cold outside, a thin heated jacket, heated gloves, and a wind breaker does the job. As long as the core of the body is warm, you will be also!
So Leo, enjoy the sun in your face as you head Northeast to your home. Be safe, and give Jeannette a hug for us when you get home.

Rosy & Janice

Good idea Leo, but if you were Bozo, he would just plow in there and let it snow, rain, sleet, or black ice, the trike must get through! LOL
Those weather apps are great. We were watching the weather apps when we decided to take off for Florida before the big one hit! It was a great move.
Better safe...than sorry!!!!
Have a nice restful day and enjoy the local cuisine. Take pictures!

Rosy, Well, pulled a Bozo! Left today and tried to get ahead of the storm. It was cold and rainy the whole way. Even encountered hail near NJ border. Thought of packing it in at Allentown, PA, but mustered up the courage to press on. Made it home at 3:15, washed my baby, took a hot shower and ate some hot soup. Now I put on my favorite fleece sweatshirt. Life is good!

Leo, glad you made it home! But, pulling a Bozo, could have gotten you in trouble with the sleet and cold. But, that will be a great story to tell when we get together.
Hot soup, sounds great.
You are going to sleep like a log tonight, now that you are in your own bed!
Sweet dreams!

Rosy
