CB error

I had my bike triked a couple of months ago. I have not used my cb until about a week ago, or even turn it on. When I did turn it on for a short group ride I got a "cb error". That's all I get on it.

I checked all the connections, several times, and still I get an error. I disconnected the battery for about 30 minutes-no good.

I have a Motortrike and an Evolution cb.

Anybody run across this before?

Cb error

One thing you might check is be sure the antenna mount end of
the cb coax is grounded to the frame of your bike. I noticed on
mine when it was triked the big ground strap no longer went to
ground. No problem though, as the installer ran a separate ground
from the antenna mount to the frame. This was a wide woven
flexible strap.

If you have a high vswr it will trigger the error message. This can
caused if the coax is not grounded as describer above.

I sent a customer request to BikeMP3 asking if they had any clues. I hope it's as easy as a software upgrade.

I did check the grounds closely. In fact, I pulled the grounding bolt out and reinstalled it to be sure.

They will get back to you, this was a problem with many of the CB Radios a while back. They are always on top of it . Good luck

They e-mailed ne yesterday and want me to send it in so they can check it out. Shipping it off today.
When these new versions came out, many bikes were getting the error, some didn't. Mine didn't. They did software upgrades on the ones that were giving the error.
I remembered this after I began getting replies to this post. Thanks everyone for the memory jog.

GETTING OLDER SUCKS1

Old Fred, I did disconnect my battery several times to no avail. I'm almost positive it's the software. I didn't send mine in for the upgrade earlier. It's still in warranty. Thanks
