Carbon1..Larry...went down today. we were riding a fall color ride with some other members and some hunt-club guys. a 16 y/o boy, on a learners permit, crashed into him. the boy said he didnt see him. he was with his mom. Larry was taken to the hospital. he was concious as he left the scene. trike looks totaled, he must have flipped at least 4-5 times. lets keep him in our prayers.

Update
He is doing fine but will be in the hospital a couple of days.Your prayers would be welcome.

VERY upsetting to hear this! Larry is a great guy, and it was a pleasure to get acquainted with him in Maggie Valley last year. Please assure him of our prayers and support, and keep us updated on his recuperation.

Larry has many injuries but will be ok, he Broke his collarbone, fractured elbow, severly bruised spleen, road rash and lots of sore spots all over. His bike was totaled I'm pretty sure.

My wife was directly behind Larry and had to witness Larry getting hit :AGGHH: Thank God his wife stayed home this trip .

I'll be going to get his bike from the impound yard and return it to his house, before the vultures have a chance to pick it's bones.

Please keep up the good wishes, they are working.

In my prayers. I guess MOM was not doing her job with the learner. I bet she was distracted.

Thoughts & Prayers to you Larry.
A Man of Principle, Character and an overall Class Act.
Wishes for a speedy recovery from all of us here.

Please give Larry a hug from us, and tell him the Aussies love him to death--and cant wait to see what he will trike next :wave4:

Great News-I hope he gets things squared away with Insurance etc., and gets his but back on the road next season. This is a reminder to us all that each time we saddle up-we are at the mercey of our enviornment! You can be the best rider in the world, but always be aware of the bullseye in the middle of you chest.

UPDATE:
Well I'm slowly recovering and figure I'm currently at the halfway point of healing up. 4 weeks now since the accident. Getting a bit more active as time goes by but still tire easily. I've had twice weekly home PT and will start out patient PT later this week. While I have more or less constant pain in the broke rib and collar bone my right leg is what I'm more concerned with. Mostly the hip and knee. Road rash is all but gone , still deep bruises in the hip an ankle area ofboth legs, plus I get pain in the right knee if I put any pressure on it while turning or bending. The bike is totaled now with the insurance company finishing up the final paper work prior to paying out on it. I've located a nice bike I'll convert into a trike sometime over the winter. Hope to pick it up within the next week or two.
Thanks to all who have wished me well, Larry

Wishing you the best of everything as you continue to recuperate, Larry! You've still got a ways to go, but you sure are doing well. It is so good to get your update :D

How does someone not see a trike that is riding as part of a group? Easy! The little snot wasn't looking!

Hoping for the best for Larry.
