Brakes?

Hello

Went out for a ride today and notice that my brakes don't feel right, Have to step down very hard on the brake pedal for the trike to stop.

What do you think?

Has plenty of brake fluid.

Joey, a bit more info will help diagnose the problem. Is the master cylinder higher or lower than the wheel cylinders? If it's lower, do you have a residual valve? Do you have disc or drums?

Not sure of your setup. If it is power brakes like in a car, hard press would be a symptom of either power loss to it or bad unit. Large round unit would be located just behind master cylinder.

Hi: Bikerbozo

Yea It has a break booster from a Geo Metro ... It feels more like if the shoes were wet and not gripping at 100 pct... more like 94 pct unless I really put the brakes down.

If you haven’t lost any fluid, you might try and adjust them out. When you was done riding the last time, they were hot and sticky. Now that they cooled off, they are cold and glazy. Adjust them out and run it down the road about a half mile with a light pressure on the peddle.

Hi All

Well after reading a few VW forums there was a section that mention to check the brake hoses and so forth. Well I went out and when I lifted the rear seat I noticed that one of the hoses was being pinch. I moved the hose over to aviod the bottom part of the rear seat. So I took the bike and drove it down the rode and seem to have done the job. Seems to work just fine now. Going to see if I can take it out for a bit longer ride.
