Dragon you have one of the very early Stallions. They had a problem with the 08's with a bad brake switch. It is mounted in front of the master cylinder power booster under the seat. You need to get at it from underneath. The switch can be ordered from Ford but TBMS did make an ungraded more water resident one. Yours might have all ready been swapped out or not. Should affect the cruise control also. Once you figure how its mounted it is not a hrad repair. The biggest issue will be splicing in the new harness if you go with the TBMS upgrade. Out first Stallion had the problem #175 and that fixed it.

Thanks
on all the paper work I got with the trike the sb to repair
the switch was there and it has been replaced, my cruise control works fine
I can't really tell how the switch works or what keeps it from moving around

Do you have power to the switch? If so, have someone apply brakes and see if you have power on the other side of the switch. Check switch connection to ground (frame)looking for 12 volts.

Dragon, that switch has 2 sides. one cuts off the cruise when you apply the peddle. the otherside turns the brake lights on. if the cruise disconnects and the light side is not working. its a mechanical switch on both side. a slide moves back and forth making and breaking the connection. possible just the one side is not making contact.

Hello to yall
I crawled under and took off the switch, my son told me I
have brake lights when I first apply the pedal none after
that. i thought stuck switch nope just worn out the slider.
is just mashed up from the rod pushing on soft plastic.
can I get this switch at my local parts place or is it tbms
only.
thanks

I called tbms on Friday asking for help with light switch.
they said everyone was busy and they would call back. no call back by the way
they have very poor customer service. any way I can go
to any auto parts store and buy this switch but it has the old
wire harness connector on it. I can buy the switch for under
20 bucks, I know the one provided by tbms has a waterproof
connector but now we have to relay on them and there poor service
to maybe get a replacement part. good thing I am not broke down someplace.
how much does this switch cost from tbms ?

take it apart and push the plunger in to see if all of the contacts are being pushed to make/break contact. I did that to repair mine after 3 failed ones from TMS. Haven't had a problem now in over 40k miles.

Dragon die-electric grease in the connector will help. Also I would try and fashion some type of waterproof cover that did not effect the operation and just use the ones from Ford. The one from TBMS that I used was supplied by them because I was still under the 3 year warrantee period.

On our current trike I put a pressure brake switch into the rear brake line and paralleled the electric to the TBMS factory switch. That way I know for sure that the lights will work even if the factory switch goes off kilter and not work. That leaves the factory switch to just primarily control the cruise control off when the brake is used.

Keep the old one, take it apart and compare the the angle of the contacts with the new one so you can fix the old and have a spare. Very easy to do.
